Masked, Disguised And Vulnerable
Revisited

I wrote this haiku a year ago and wanted to revamp it for the mask challenge.

You can’t trust a poet
our thoughts are tied up in rhyme
We are the cause, and we know it
making our feelings the crime
Hiding bleeding hearts
worn out and worn on our sleeves
Choosing lovers with darts
bought and purchased, unseen
No, you can't trust a poet
we'll dress death in flowers and lace
Given the chance, we will stoke it
till it blows up in your face
Until then, we will woo you
with love refined and demure
Sunny skies, baby blue
with intentions, obscured

Good job. For some reason I read this one as if they were separate haikus.
I knew I shouldn't trust you with your flowery rhymes. 😉 Beautifully written. It snagged my attention from the start and flowed seamlessly.
