Oh, how I love our morning chats
with a little of this
and a lot of thats.
You drink your coffee
and I drink my hot tea
while we discuss all the what is'
and what ought to bes.
Nothing too serious and nothing too wry,
Nothing too stuffy or fluffy to cause us to cry.
Keeping it funny and keeping it real.
Way too early to be that spry...
Just a few simple words as we pass by.
And when the cups are complete
and we say "have a good day,"
we can go away smiling...
Oh, I like it that way!
