Poetry And Rhyme Are Fun

Sense Swap - Write a short piece (poem or prose) that uses only taste and smell to describe a common scene, like a bustling café or morning commute. Challenge yourself. Do not mention anything visual. Instead, use other senses to paint the world… The Power of Poetry

Yesterday, I awoke to a smell that was out of this world, or so the saying goes, where you can almost taste something just based on the scent, what beautiful prose! I was amazed by the wonder of the smell in my nose. I was aware of the wait for the taste, and the scent was in his nightclothes.

Who knew he could make so much delight during the night? Was it caramel or cinnamon rolls, cake, cookies, or other delight? Wait, there is a slight smell of chocolate, right? However, could I have missed that? And is it dark, milk, or white?

Senses

Each smell lets down my defenses

Nice chocolatey smell driving me mad

Say, it is good for me, say it isn’t bad

Every bite is pure joy and will have consequences

Saying I am off sugar, may not work. I’m a sad lad

~

Smell

Meet the smell of this chocolatey delight

Every whiff is more fragrant than the last

Loving the smell, who doesn’t love that right?

Like a reminder of Willy Wonka, a blast from the past

~

Taste

A powerful taste in every bite

Satisfying all with taste so light

Tantalizing and increasing my appetite

Enjoying all the chocolate in sight!
