It Has Begun
A challenge was sent
Publicly issued on Vocal
Kelli did consent
Tee-toe-sal
The terms were agreed
A poem off it would be
Kelli said she’d follow my lead
Tee-toe-sal-si
The poetry fest began
Kelli and me, tossing words
Like comedians taking the stand
And our fans gather like birds
Waiting for each rhyme
As if it were a breadcrumb
Eagerly watching the time
Tee-toe-sal-si-dum
Kelli and me, drawing out
The anticipation of each of you
Until you, the reader, want to shout
Tee-toe-sal-si-dum-do
And just when you think
The wait will drive you crazy
You’ll get the notification link
Tee-toe-sal-si-dum-do-zee
You’ll swear one of us is a misfit
So, just you all wait and see,
As we are just winging it
