Reminiscing Poem

A Poem about the good old days

By Dakota ThomasPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

Remember when it was so easy

So easy to smile

So easy to not care about others feelings

So easy to be selfish and spoiled

But at the same time

so easy to care about everyone else

It was so easy to believe in a man who can give every child everything

And it was so easy to believe in getting money under your pillow without hard work

So easy to watch tv and movies

Without noticing race or sexual jokes

Or noticing the calories on the popcorn

So easy to not really notice anything

Because there was this bubble

Of protection from anything difficult

Remember when it was so easy to want to smile more

And not care about the kids who had their bubbles popped too soon

So easy to waste and not listen to the people who say your going to miss this

Now it’s not so easy

Unless you work hard to make it that way
