Phoenix

Snake

Shed your skin, Rise again.

Her eyes light her way in her darkness,

She is Home.

Look at them, jealous, intimidated,

Scared.

Misunderstood intensity.

Daughter of Darkness.

She walks her own path, trampling those who would stop her,

Leaving behind those who would hesitate.

Sister Scorpio unite, under a banner of waning light.

To arise again under a banner of light so bright it hurts your eyes.

She can take all that’s given, more.

She can take all that’s forced.

She sees all, although she does not say.

She remembers all, although she does not display.

There is a cauldron inside of her, deep, deep inside.

Your fate awaits her judgment.

What have you done?

Anything of note?

Have you done anything?

Her fangs are perfect for latching on, unable to let go.

Her scales are perfect for regeneration, always on the move.

Her eyes are perfect for perception, scanning her intel.

Her silence is dangerous.

Perfect for the strike.

Did you feel it?

The poison is perfect too.

Slow and steady moving through your veins.

Slow and steady taking its hold.

Slow and steady causing cold.

Slow and steady, yet bold.

In and out.

Slowly.

Easing down now.

Slowly. Silently.

You’re right on top of her.

Before you realize.

Too late.

About the Creator

Amanda Lyons

Eclectic stream of consciousness and dark surrealism. What photography does for life I do for thought, emotions, and experiences. The genres can range from romance to horror but my favorite is suspense.
