THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION

A poem

By Aaron MorrisonPublished about a year ago 1 min read

This blizzard isn’t stopping

This cave is getting cold

I know it isn’t likely

But I’d like to make it home

Supplies ran out three days ago

So I held a special meeting

Looks like you drew the shortest straw

(Never mind that you were sleeping)

I acted swiftly and decisively

So you wouldn’t get suspicious

If it’s any consolation

Your ribs were quite delicious

Omg I have many thoughts about how you chose to write this, Aaron. The sing songy rhythm exudes a kind of mania, contrasting the darkness of cannibalism with a light hearted poetic style. A fun, yet unsettling read, to be sure!
