The Key To My Heart Is Always Yours
Wonderland Challenge Day 5

An old man sits in solitude,
Gazing out at a blue sea,
His eyes closed shut, his mood subdued,
His hand moves to his knee,
Resting there lies a tiny key.
ποΈποΈποΈποΈ
A symbol of a love now gone,
A gift to his beloved wife,
The edges of it are slightly worn,
Still, she is there, part of his life,
As he strokes the tiny key.
ποΈποΈποΈποΈ
I loved you then, I love you now,
You are always in my heart,
Youβre close to me somehow,
And with this key, weβll never be apart,
As he strokes the tiny key.
ποΈποΈποΈποΈ
Tears flow from his tied eyes,
Lamenting times gone by,
He lifts his head towards the skies,
And letβs out a soulful sigh,
You still have the key to my heart.

Till next time,

Sweetly nostalgic with lovely rhyme.
Oh how beautiful! May we all have a love that holds us as tightly and as tenderly and as long as this old man with this very special key. How special it would be to be loved so deeply.
I was so touched by this, I read it slowly β savoured every bit. It almost made me cry. What a loving man, the tiny key was a great skeleton to add the meat β the depth of his love for his beloved wife, I believed every word. Outstanding! ππ½ππ½
