The Mirror by the River
The Morning After Night's Encounter

When I stood by the river, I never thought my heart would know
How beautiful a woman is, her soul laid open to show
A dance beneath the stars suspended in the air
Tears fell from my eyes down to her hair
A smile that makes even silence speak
I long to give the peace she seems to seek
My heart is changed, but I am not new
Still grasping as my angels shape what's true
To restore my heart, my sight, and my life
They cut out my corroded self with my own knife

Oh wow, that last line, that's my favourite. Such a beautiful poem!
