The Sands Of Time

A Love Story

By Earl W. PearlPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

Remember that eventful day

When we were both so young

That day you stole my heart away

The nightingale’s all sung

Those breathless days of yesteryear

If only we had more

Those many winsome years my dear

Now more behind, than fore

We both endured the sifting of

The passing grains of sand

A passionate, undying love

As we walk hand in hand

How precious if our coupled life

Could carry on in bliss

To always be that man and wife

Who ends each day in kiss

Now thirty years beyond our prime

More wise than we were then

Let’s flip this hourglass of time

So we might thrive again
