Through the Darkest of Hurricanes

She emerges.

By Sharita CormierPublished 8 years ago 1 min read

Thrashing dashing and driving into her

Pounding and gravelingat the sweetest soul

Trying to in-earth her deeply into the ground

Only to see the most marvelous spectacle they had ever laid eyes on

She emerged from the soil with grace and fluidity

Vitality and elegantly planted roots contorted through the rich fertile soil

If only they knew they would trace her trunk so strong and straight

She stretched with branches so elegant like a willow

Gracefully they would flow through the toughest of storms

Strong like the cypress she could withstand submersion

Twisting and dancing through the darkest of hurricanes

She would not only provide shade and cool a breeze

She would provide love and light with the gatherings she held

Sharita Cormier

Guys, I am a performer, singer, and writer. Earth has been extraordinary for me. Hiking through this place is intoxicating. Music, words, and fire feul my existance. I have two associates degrees. Completing the third is a task in it's own.
