Trains and Railways Uk
Challenge 2 trains and railways set for me by Paul

Trains and Railways Uk
The engine hums, a low, slow groan,
Steel on steel, a distant tone.
Fog drapes the hills in silver chains,
As carriages slice through northern rains.
Red-bricked stations, worn with age,
Timetables flicker like a turning page.
Footsteps echo on the platform’s spine,
Where ghosts of journeys intertwine.
Coal-smudged tunnels swallow the light,
Bridges loom against the night.
Fields blur past in shades of grey,
A little glimpse, then the views pulled away.
The click and clack, a steady beat,
Along forgotten village streets.
Signal lights blink red and gold,
Silent watchers, stern and cold.
From London’s roar to coastal bends,
The railways twist but never end.
Bound by iron, smoke, and rain,
A country’s pulse — the tracks remain.

Loved this for I thought I was on a train trip through England and her isles as well as a trip cross country in America.
