Valentines Day Haiku
Poem a Day in February contest
Author's Note: This was a three day Valentines Day haiku contest. It started last Friday and ended on Sunday.
Haiku was the format. Others did write poems but they weren't all Haiku. The others are still in the gift booklet that will be sent to the winners.
The top 3 are included below, including our own Mariann Carroll, who won first place.

Author's Note: Poem a Day in February (PaDiF) is fun for everyone who joins in. There are prizes for placing like pictured above, their are booklets that have your poems in. I write poetry every day on PaDiF for fun and for encouragement. I am not entered in most of the contests. This year two regulars stepped up and donated prizes and agreed to be my partner in this endeavor. We will get a new writer on occasion. When “f” Eats, It Spells Feat
I can hardly breathe. The sadness in my throat is as tight as a rope that has been tied in a dozens knots. The muscles in my face attempt to move, but they are as a stagnant pond. I try to swallow but I just feel exhausted. Putting my feet on the floor, feels like an impossible feat. This is not how I was supposed to be as an adult at all. I was supposed to grow up and be confident, energetic and happy, not depressed.

Think for Me
"How do you calculate the circumference of a circle? Submit your answer when ready." [Pause] "Excellent! Every student was able to call up the answer electronically very quickly. If I, as a robot had feelings, I would express pride. You may break for lunch. Return to this cyber room in 45 minutes."
