The moon rises as the sun falls to its nightly slumber.
The only thing to rise on my mind is the thought of her.
What I’d give to feel her lips on mine
As her fingertips write love notes on my back.
Listening to the cool breeze after a warm summer’s rain against the window pane.
Listening to the cool breeze of her breathing that sends shivers down my spine.
Our hands intertwined and the soft touch of her skin,
It’s enough to be intoxicating.
It’s the only high I want.
Addicted to what could be.
But your head hits the pillow that sadly isn’t mine.
But in the depths of my dream filled mind is where I roll over to find you cuddled close.
She keeps my soul warm on the cold nights.
