Mental Health Discord Helped Me Recover from Mental Illness. Top Story - June 2018.
I spent the majority of this year looking for support groups for those living with mental health disorders. When I couldn't find a support group that aligned with my needs, I decided to create a mental health discord server where I could meet others with similar issues. I call it The House of Misfits, and use it as a space where those with mental health disorders could vent and support each other during the dark times.

13 Reasons Why (You Shouldn't Kill Yourself)
We've all heard about Netflix's show 13 Reasons Why. There are mixed opinions on it. Some people say it promotes and glorifies teenage suicide, while others say it is shedding light on teenage mental health issues. I wanted to write this article upon the recent release of Season 2, because now it's back in popular media, I'm sure it will affect a lot of people.

The Most Common Mental Illnesses
It has been said that one in four people suffer from a mental illness. The majority of those people suffer from either anxiety or depression and, very often, both. They are like those friends who are always together. Previously I talked about the stigma around mental illness. I mentioned that depression and anxiety are the two that have the least amount of stigma. This is not only due to how common they are, but also due to the fact that they are based around normal emotions that get out of hand. Depression and anxiety can ruin people’s lives. It’s not like just feeling depressed or anxious. These illnesses can control a persons life and often the feelings that seem normal are amplified by the illness.

The Empathic Mind
Being an empath is not easy. Especially in today's world where people's emotions run rampant and issues with the world are at an all-time high. Most people get lost in the fray when it comes to being empathic. Many never knowing that they have such an ability. Most of the time it's diagnosed as an illness or an issue when, in truth, it's an ability most can only barely understand. You go through stages of feeling crazy not knowing why you lash out, moments of sadness, fear, and anger, all steaming from this ability. It's a double-edged sword that makes you amazing at understanding others and then in the same breath feeling overwhelmed by what's around you. To the point of feeling like drowning in a sea of emotions.

Weed and Medication
Let me tell you my back story with prescription pills and marijuana. I'll back up and tell you that I have depression, anxiety (BAD), PTSD, and bipolar disorder. That is just the set up to my experience with mixing my actual medication and marijuana. All of my disorders combined makes me paranoid.

Unmistakable Signs That Love Has Your Mind Hostage
Have you been oblivious to the signs and red flags for the sake of love? Do you or others notice how it has affected you? When love evicts the mind from the brain, it can be quite a damaging experience to say the least.

Mental Illness and Me
Mental Illness Mental illness is no less important than a visible illness. The only problem is that people who have not suffered with mental illness do not and will not ever understand what it’s like. Sure, they can guess and go off what they’re told, but you can never be prepared to go through any sort of mental illness. I’m going off of what I’ve experienced, which is generalised anxiety and depression.

10 Things You Should Know About the ESTJ Female
ESTJ is one of sixteen personality types in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). ESTJ stands for Extrovert, Sensation, Thinking, and Judging.Don't be fooled by the word "judging." This does not make an ESTJ, or any other judging type in this system for that matter, judgmental. Rather, it determines how you prefer to make decisions.ESTJs make up roughly 10 percent of the general population, give or take, which is actually quite a lot. While there are far more men out there with this personality type, there are also many women of this type.Without further ado, let's get into what makes the ESTJ female tick and why it's good to have one in your life.

Do You Have Adult ADHD?
ADHD is surprisingly common in adults, and is often misdiagnosed as another mood disorder. ADHD doesn't present as the hyperactive disorder many of us expect, and is often recognized as a result of the anxiety, stress, low self esteem, and anger that many of those with ADHD suffer. Many adults live with ADHD for years, developing coping mechanisms to help manage symptoms before they ever realize that ADHD is what they have been coping with all along. The year he turned 30, my partner took on a new job and his stress level had shot up more than expected. Depressed, anxious, and suffering from a plummet in self esteem, I began to piece together that he had been suffering for a long time from adult ADHD, and the coping mechanisms he had stopped working to cover up what he was having trouble with.

Screaming Into the Void
In this day and age, while depression has most certainly existed throughout all of human existence, albeit under different names and logic, it would appear that, in this era, more people suffer from bouts of depression and suicidal contemplation more so on average. It is not uncommon for someone with depression to have contemplated killing themselves at one time or another. While most people blend in, with varying degrees of success, to mask their true emotions and psychological state, others do not fare as well and will eventually deteriorate into more dangerous territory as they let on.
