Institutional Balance vs. Separation of Powers
Introduction The concept of institutional balance—much used in EU legal publications appears to be a concept that is as elusive as the Unicorn. It is further clouded by parallels often drawn between it and the principle of separation of powers.

The Death of the Social Justice Warrior
Many of those that began their early days of political discourse on the web will have encountered use of this term at some point or another. Some, since its explosion of use in 2011, proudly attribute it to themselves, while others use it in a manner that is almost akin to a slur as an umbrella term for anyone whose views and standpoints lean to the left. As the "tumblr generation" (those who became active on the website and others of its kind around the time where the term became commonly used) came of age, and the global political climate shifted ever more to the point of noticeable widespread threat to human rights, the identity-politics-driven communities on these forums formed what could only be described as a subculture. Despite priding itself specifically on values of diversity and acceptance, the "Social Justice Warrior" movement still adhered to forms and models that would identify a cultural group as such, right down to aesthetics, language, behaviour, and groupthink.

Camden Market Lock Up In Flames!
Camden is pretty well known across the country; always bringing in tourists in, from left, right and centre. Business is pretty much always booming, until something like this happens, you just think, "Oh come on. We had nearly a whole month of respite here without having any issues what so ever"; 5 weeks ago exactly Grenfell Tower went up in flames like a chimney stack that you have in your garden on Wednesday 19th June 2017, barely a week later we had a small terror attacked on Monday 19th June 2017. Within the same week as the terror attack, a 4 story high block of flats went up in flames. However, it wasn't as bad as Grenfell Tower. This time it was in the Bethnal Green area. Oh, don't forget the two terror attacks in May 2017 and in March 2017.

Dear Donald: If You Could Get Your Namesake To Shut Up, That'd Be Great
Mr. Trump: As a Canadian watching the farce that is American politics right now, I continue to be quite amused by what you feel is the right thing to do. There is no question that you becoming the United States' president has bolstered your celebrity status. The problem is, it's also cemented your status as a complete fool, and it seems to have spread throughout your gene pool.

Conservatives are Zionists
Reports on the events at Grenfell Tower last month have begun an outrage of claims that Grenfell Tower victims were "murdered by Zions" who had been funded by the Conservative Party. Not sure this is true but the outburst of comments is now being investigated by the police, just to cover all bases in case it is true in this age of complicated terrorist attacks.

Trump vs. The First Amendment
Last year if you asked me if I would be sitting here writing an article about Twitter and Trump, the answer would be yes. The man loves his Tweets more than he loves (allegedly) sexually harassing women. This man tweets more than Democrats ask for money in an email. At three in the morning when a normal person is sleeping, he is up tweeting about Hillary (seriously he has an unhealthy obsession with his former friend/rival) or the goings-ons at a morning show, that nobody knew existed until he started talking about them. Now he is being sued for his favorite late night activity and it brings up some interesting questions.

Dear Donald... We'll Have to Save Ourselves
Dear Donald, Following the unprecedented 2017 presidential elections, our nation has been swept into unknown territory. Our country appears to be more polarized than ever at least politically, which right now seems like the only thing people can talk about. And I must say it’s not for nothing. When the President of the United States is consistently in the spotlight for a multitude of wrongdoings ranging from sexual harassment charges to sheer ignorance regarding politics, it’s natural to question what is going on here.

Justice is Color Blind
You know, I sit back emotionally drained as I watch the tolerance level for injustice, racism, police brutality and hate rise to an astounding level. The images of Black men and women laying in pools of blood in situations where you would expect them to live through situations like selling CDs or being a legal gun owner who informs an officer that you are a legal gun owner, or even walking home with a bag of skittles.

Dear Theresa: What A Difference A Year Makes
Prime Minister May, Well now. It’s been one thing after another, eh? You started with such high hopes and great expectations a year ago. After David Cameron’s uncommonly swift exit from 10 Downing Street a year ago, you took charge of the government making history from day one, as the second woman in history to serve as prime minister and leader of the Conservative (or Tory) Party—no less than Margaret Thatcher was the first. You, therefore, stepped into huge shoes to be filled.

Searching for Political Viagra
The definition of dysfunction is the state of being unable to perform in a normal way. The Republican-led Senate fits that definition, as it is unable to pass health care reform despite having the majority. This, despite the beating of their collective chest following Trump’s election that gave the Republicans the trifecta of owning the White House, Senate, and the House, which every party supporter believed would be the elixir to their flagging legislative accomplishments as much as Viagra is to erectile dysfunction.
