Musk, the richest man in the world Very individualistic and even a bit capricious, but ultimately ......

But eventually wimped out again.

Musk, the world's richest man, has a lot of personalities and even a bit of willfulness, but in the end, he's a wimp again.

The reason why I say "again" is because there are at least two things.

The first is that he had a sudden idea to buy Twitter, but then backtracked and said he would not buy it, and then was sued by Twitter in court, before the trial Musk again gave in, and I still buy it at the original price.

The second thing is that in his Space, whether to continue to provide free Starling satellite network to Ukraine.

A few days ago, Musk "crying poverty", wrote to the U.S. Pentagon, said he could not afford to provide Starling services to Ukraine because this year the related expenditure will reach $ 120 million, the next year a total of nearly $ 400 million.

What does that mean?

I can't afford to pay, the Pentagon you pay.

According to Musk, for the U.S. government, the money is less than the cost of a new GPS satellite, but GPS signals are easily jammed, while his Starling network is not, so it helps Ukraine gain a "major battlefield advantage.

It's a bit of a brag, but it's generally true.

Ukraine's network technology is very poor, and the conflict has led to the disruption of Ukraine's network. Ukraine's front-line combat troops have been using Starling to communicate, and even to manipulate drones to launch attacks against Russian troops. It is said that Starling was responsible for the bombing of the Russian cruiser "Moscow".

But not long ago, according to Western media, the U.S. military suddenly found that the Starling network, which had been working well, was suddenly unusable, and "some of the disruptions even led to catastrophic results, triggering panic calls from [Ukrainian] soldiers."

Can you imagine how the battle could be fought when the Ukrainian army's communications were suddenly disrupted at the height of the fighting?

What was the trigger?

It should be mostly money, but most directly, there is also the sudden crossfire between Musk and Ukraine.

But not long ago, Musk suddenly began to be particularly concerned about the situation in Russia and Ukraine and put forward four peace proposals.

1, a new referendum in the eastern regions of Ukraine under the supervision of the United Nations, with Russia leaving if the local population does not want it.

2, Crimea officially became part of Russia, as it has been since 1783 (until Khrushchev got it wrong).

3, ensuring that Crimea's water supply is secure.

4, Ukraine to remain neutral.

According to Musk, these four proposals, most likely, is also the outcome of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, but the problem is that before reaching such an outcome, many more people will die, and there is also the possibility of nuclear war, rather than this, it is better that you make peace early and compromise early, in one step.

But such negotiating conditions, especially the cession of territory, are undoubtedly dis empowering for Ukraine. Former Ukrainian ambassador to Germany Menelik burst even more foul-mouthed and bitter: "Get lost in my very diplomatic reply to you."

Before providing the Starling network, Musk was a big hero of Ukraine; now proposing a peace program, Musk immediately became is Russia's stupid dog bear. Can Musk not be angry with Ukraine for flipping out like this?

So, the Starling communication, not to Ukraine for free, the Pentagon pays for it. And, feeling angry in heart of Musk, and even publicly said: we (get out) but followed his advice.

The Ukrainian side was a little dumbfounded, and the Americans looked even more dumbfounded. Musk, you have guts!

But what happened?

It's just ballsy for one day.

Then, it was a 180-degree turn. Anyway, Musk then tweeted again and this is what he said, "Hell ...... even though Starling is still losing money, other companies are getting billions of taxpayer dollars and we will continue to fund the Ukrainian government for free."

I just read that some US media have not turned around and are still disclosing the so-called "inside information" that the Pentagon is considering allocating some of the money from the fund for supplying weapons and equipment to Space's Starling communications because it is a lifeline for Ukraine... ...

See Musk seems a little anxious and rushed to leave a message after this message: Space has long since (to the Pentagon) withdrawn the application for the money.

What do you mean?

The truth I do not know, can make Musk slap himself, such a 180-degree turn, but also not the usual force. A personal analysis of it.

First, if you guess correctly, the U.S. government exerted strong pressure on Musk. Even do not rule out the implication that you dare to break the network of Ukraine, you consider considering the taxes of so many companies under your umbrella. After all, Musk, who has a large number of companies, is not the main business of the star chain.

Second, support Ukraine, in the West is politically correct, Musk is very sober. Although he always speaks out of fear, the sky is not afraid, but also repeatedly stressed that he is on the side of Ukraine. But the negative public opinion brought by the sudden disconnection still makes him more or less under pressure. Public opinion is like running water, what if Westerners are angered not to buy Tesla? After all, there is more than one Tesla on the market for electric cars.

Third, the U.S. military may be particularly displeased. According to CNN, there are internal documents showing that SpaceX can have today, without the strong support of the U.S. government, specifically to the Starlink terminal, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has provided a large amount of assistance, and even paid $1500 for part of the market price of less than $600 terminal.

Of course, there is another reason, the U.S. FBI is investigating Musk on the acquisition of Twitter, at this juncture, more is better than less. What's more, as the world's richest man, Musk is worth nearly 250 billion, spending in Ukraine is just a drop in the bucket but also asked the Pentagon for money, Musk, you are blackmailing the government, is it not that you have a leg up with Putin?

Finally, how to see?

Just two points.

First, the technical and military role of Starling, can not be ignored.

Musk himself boasts that what GPS can't do, Starling can do, and help Ukraine gain "major battlefield advantage". With more than 1,000 satellites overhead, no country can afford to ignore the fact that it is civilian on the surface and military in reality. This also gives Russia a problem.

Secondly, Musk has a personality again, but in the end, he still wimped out.

It is a fact that influential individuals, even the world's richest man who dared to verbally call Biden if they offend the fundamental interests of the United States, the United States will eventually tell them to eat their way out. So Musk hurried to see the good, and the money do not want, I concede to continue to pay for the waist. Just military affairs, dramatic farce like this, we are also considered to witness history.
