Today I write words I will never forget. Today I am more angry with the human race than ever before. Today I feel infuriated. Today I call out every single person this reaches, government officials, law enforcement, workers, front lines, parents, and yes even young people.

Covid-19
Coronavirus or Covid-19, whichever you like to call it. It has been in the news a lot overs this past few months. No matter where we turn, we are hearing about coronavirus or getting back to work. Kids need to be back in school in the fall. We all know that we need to work and the kids need to learn, but is it safe for all that to happen? Can we safely send our children to school? With numbers still rising and more people getting the virus, can we say it’s safe to send the ones we hold dear back to school when they can’t guarantee their safety.

Lets talk....
As a mother to a 1y.o child, thoughts go threw my mind daily. As a essential employee, working 36hours a week to 20 maybe 22 if lucky. Daily I put not only myself but my households health in danger. I ring out hundreds of people on a daily basis face to face. Handling their groceries, taking their cash and even helping them when needed. On top of this I have been doing online classes as well. Try to do it between my daughters nap schedule or when sleeping. which isn't at all easy, if your a parent you can relate. Some nights I will stare at my child and think, is this job worth risking my health or bringing something home to my daughter. Yes most weeks I max out at four-hundered a paycheck, making it able to put rent aside with enough left to pay bills and support my daughter. Its now getting into the fall/winter season so who knows how my checks will be. Not to mention my landlord isnt the best.

Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass
I, Frederick Douglass, want to speak to all Millennials. I want to tell you all as growing up as a black man born into slavery that life has not been easy. The truth about slavery is horrible. There is so much knowledge that mankind just does not know. Slaves did not grow up to have an intelligent output. There are so many things that we did not know. We lacked information such as our own age, how to read and write, we did not know compassion and kindness. Even though we were victims of slavery and were not even treated as humans and less than dogs. The only thing that kept us fair-minded was being able to sing. Slaves were just a property that endured forced labor to do whatever our masters wanted us to do. We weren’t able to have knowledge of what we were capable of and were surrounded by depression and darkness itself. But, I want you to realize that life has it is bittersweet moments. That the Millennials can actually change society as a whole. Get rid of racial tension built up for centuries and learn to love each other. All I ask is please do not judge someone base on their bloodline and the appearance of the color of their skin.

What's The Government Really Up To?
Mr. George Floyd’s death was definitely a tragic death. This world has had a right to react to it, but I do not believe they have reacted the proper way. I feel like this has come so much further than justice for Mr. Floyd. Their’s peaceful protests, riots, looting, and burning down companies. Even burning down a business of an innocent man, just because they thought the business was owned by a white man. The business was actually owned by a black man that started off in the ghetto and man something of himself. This is more than justice for Mr. Floyd, I believe this is more than Black lives matter protests now. I feel like people are terrified of the fact that we do indeed have some dirty cops in our law enforcement all over the world, but we always have. I am not against law enforcement one bit, I support them and I have trust in them.

When Fiction Inspires Reality
Needless to say, we live in dark times. 2020, the cursed year, has shown us how fragile our everyday lives can be. Who would've thought that billions of people all across the globe were going to be confined for months in an era where liberty was taken for granted in wealthy countries? Who would've believed that the USA was going to crumble under anarchy for a video showing racist police brutality? Worst of all, who would've guessed that the supposed world's strongest powerhouse was going to be led by a madman? In fact, all of the above has been displayed for years right before our eyes through art and entertainment. But when fiction becomes our reality, we find ourselves back against the wall. No writer or director can decide the outcome of the chaotic plot in which we are the actors. We have the imagination to create infinite intrigues and the cleverness to culminate them into good endings, but when the chips are down in reality, when we have to rethink the codes, the systems and the social norms, things get out of hand fast and finding solutions to the numerous crises that we're facing is far more challenging than in books, video games and movies.
