Is a Banana Boat Team Possible?
With lots of commotion surrounding Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony Tuesday, half of the Banana Boat is very loud in the news currently. Anthony met with Phil Jackson to talk about his future with the New York Knicks, and of course stated that he wants to stay with the team. Chris Paul has a torn ligament in his left thumb and will be out 6–8 weeks. While both of those situations are unfortunate, much like the Baudelaires having to deal with Count Olaf in “The Series of Unfortunate Events”, it had me thinking about a future Banana Boat team, and how this could actually happen.

Would Lebron James Have Survived in the 80's-90's?
Co-Written by Kenneth Wilson The other day in our company group chat, TJ decided to be the devil’s advocate and post “LeBron James would have sucked in the 90's,” knowing he would get a response. That response came, and Kenneth brought the thunder. This exchange fostered (you guessed it,) A DEBATE.

How the 2017 NBA Dunk Contest Will Go
Tonight Aaron Gordon, DeAndre Jordan, Derrick Jones Jr., and Glenn Robinson III will be competing in the NBA’s Verizon Slam Dunk Contest, and the field may be underwhelming to you by looking at those names, but I assure you this year’s dunk contest may go a little differently than you think (or a whole lot).

Kyrie Irving Has His Reasons for Wanting Out of Cleveland
Disclaimer: I am not an advocate of Kyrie Irving wanting to leave LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. I am only a Cincinnatian going to Ohio University, surrounded by large patches of Clevelanders — it is my duty to lay out the plethora of reasons why Kyrie Irving wants to get out of the Mistake on the Lake.

Klay Thompson Is Expendable
A few things after watching game one of the NBA Finals: JaVale McGee, Deron Williams, and Matt Barnes are playing in the NBA Finals, Richard Jefferson is about 47 years old now and is still playing professional basketball, Kevin Durant had a sneaky explosion in the first half in which I didn’t notice him setting an atomic bomb off to start the game until he had 16 points, Stephen Curry can still ruin everyone’s lives and hit a three from anywhere on the court, LeBron James is still really great at playing basketball, and Klay Thompson forgot how to shoot a basketball.

Top Five Pictures From the 2016–2017 NBA Season Thus Far
As we approach NBA’s All-Star Weekend, we have had plenty of memorable moments, plenty of triple doubles, plenty of in game dunks, plenty of buzzer beaters, plenty of basketball. There have also been plenty of pictures snapped throughout this season so far, and some of them are funnier than others. I’m going to determine the top five snapshots from the halfway over 2016–2017 NBA season.

Joel Embiid The GOAT of Social Media
Last week I ordered a Joel Embiid jersey from a Chinese website named Aliexpress and, if you’re a sports fan who likes wearing jerseys and you haven’t ordered from Aliexpress, you’re wrong. While an Embiid jersey will adorn my back in 12–20 days, he has overtaken the NBA this season on and off the court. Embiid is averaging only 25.3 minutes per game due to his foot injuries that kept him from playing the last two years. He makes the most of those 25.3 minutes while averaging 19.8 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.5 blocks to a highlight of a so far rookie year campaign. While his numbers are eye popping, the most incredible part of Joel Embiid is his social media presence.

(Rational) Hype for the NBA’s Christmas Day Games
The NBA season is coming…in two and a half months. The full NBA regular season schedule will be revealed very soon. Random, fun matchups will be announced — with many people getting excited over a DeMarcus Cousins-Nikola Jokic matchup on a random day in February. (I have a feeling that NBA twitter will be less enthused about that matchup when the actual season starts.) Basketball is getting closer. But all we have now is Nike jersey announcements and NBA 2K player rating leaks.

Dion Waiters and the Rebirth of Trash Talking
Many sportswriters and NBA connoisseurs believe we are in the golden age of athletic ability in the league. We do see more freaks than actual humans in the league. Triple-doubles are becoming a gamely occurrence, while poster dunks may not even make it on to basketball cards anymore. That’s all fine and well, but the NBA is still not the same.

Life in the WojBomb and ShamsWow Era. Top Story - September 2017.
Seemingly, NBA free agency has cooled down. All of the major moves have been made with Chris Paul, Paul George, Gordon Hayward and others heading to new teams in pursuit of winning a championship/beating the Warriors/making that money. Even with free agency shifting from Paul and George to Monta Ellis and Nick Young, NBA free agency fervor rages on.
