A Story of When I Died
Now I haven't explored this website very much, but I'm here to tell a story. Not to write an article like "10 places to visit before you're 50" or " How to be a new artist/singer/dancer/painter." It seems like a lot of people are on here and want to be a writer for BuzzFeed or something, but the thing that piqued my interest was telling stories. If you know me, then you know that I am a big storyteller, and I love hearing stories too. I like the idea of this site as a place to write down my stories, almost like a catalog of my stories, and or life. So I hope you enjoy this one!

How to Celebrate Michigan in the Summer
Summer time in Michigan can have many highs and several lows. And I don’t just mean the temperature! There are humidity and water levels to take into consideration when deciding how to spend the day. Michigan’s state motto is “Si quaeris peninsulam amoenam, circumspice,” which is Latin for “If you seek a pleasant peninsula, look about you.” This means we are literally surrounded by water. Michigan is also half comprised of water—41.5%! Consequently, a lot of summer activity in this state does revolve around water. But that isn’t all there is to do, and hopefully you will find activities on this list to suit all of your summer time needs.

The Road Trip from California to Texas
Four years ago, I found myself sitting in the driver’s seat of my brand-new car with my best friend in the passenger seat. We drove from Southern California to Oregon, camping and visiting with friends along the way. What started as some sort of cheesy rom-com where a friend tried their best to reunite two old friends with a bit of history became a cheesy story of friendship that we still talk about until this day.

My Thoughts After New Orleans . Top Story - July 2019.
Was it in this place of Who Dat's, ghosts of flood victims, or Black eccentric pride that I learned that I am natural? I recall rubbing my light yellow skin, untouched by the 97 degree heat of the ninth ward. Who knew that high dewpoint could make me shed, and get toasty brown. I rubbed the spicy melting lotion into my skin, put on my fresh red pants, and striped Be-Youtiful shirt, ready to explore. After traveling down South I was worried. I did not know how to be around communities of other races that were historically not very kind to women that look like me. I expected that my skin tone would cause my service to be lessened, or to be judged. But, what I learned is that maybe Southern Hospitality is the barrier breaker to what we call discrimination. Although our accents stood out, we were traveling among the 100,000 coming down for the 25th year of Essence! Essence magazine is so important to highlight blackness in business, fashion, politics, and within families. The first issue of Essence was in May of 1970, where the tag "to delight and to celebrate the beauty, pride, strength, and uniqueness of all Black women," and Barbara Cheeseborough graced.

A View From the Top
A view from the top does not look the same for everyone. For some it may literally be the top of a mountain, for others, it might be the finish line of a marathon, a diploma, a promotion, or owning a business, a successful marriage, or the view from the front porch of your dream home.

Mr. Hot Pants
This is all true. It was Gatlinbug in mid-July, and I’d just hit town, and my throat was, well, dry. I was eager for some semblance of civilization, a cold beer, and a good steak. Maybe I could find me an indecent girl in a rowdy bar to take me home for a little drunken loving, and more importantly, a warm bed. After sleeping on the ground for three weeks, and riding the motorcycle for countless miles my back was crying. Though with how I surely smelled, I’d probably still be sleeping on the ground tonight regardless. But seeing that Walgreens and a Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. gave me a weird sense of comfort anyway.

Natural Haven
I traveled to Stark, New Hampshire recently where I enjoyed a beautiful stay in an older home beside Crystal Falls. It was surrounded by some of the most gorgeous natural sites I have ever seen. Seconds passed to the peaceful sound of running water with little interest in the ticking of our clocks. When we opened the door to the back deck, the sound was reminiscent of a hurricane, and it was hard not to smile when you realized the rushing sound was not caused by wind, but instead the powerful water cutting through boulders.

My First Time in Las Vegas Gone Wrong
My first ever time in Las Vegas. My brother and I went to Vegas for three nights. Well... it was supposed to be three nights. Let me explain. I and my brother landed at the Vegas airport then took an Uber car to our hotel. we stayed at Harrah's hotel and casino. It was unbelievable. I never saw so many slots in one city. They even had slots at the Vegas airport... can you believe that? Then after that, we checked into our hotel room. Our hotel and room were beautiful. We walked over to the store and got some smoke (if you know what I mean) then went gambling for an hour, then went to our room for the night. The next morning we got up at about nine AM or so, and went gambling for a few hours then walked up to the Vegas strip and went to a few different casinos. We had the best time. I was losing money like no tomorrow, but I still had a good time.
