Pole To Pole To Scaleber Force
Introduction every year I come to Settle and one of the walks I like to do is to Scaleber Force (also known as Scaleber Foss and Scalener Falls) which is a local waterfall. I always worry that I won't be able to do it, although every year I do, and this year has been no different.

Exploring the Netherlands

It is known as the “Garden of Europe” and is located on the outskirts of the town of Lisse. This is the largest public garden in the world with over 700 varieties of tulips in April and May. Massive commercial hot houses keep the displays going most of the year. There are endless rows of tulips as well as hyacinths, crocuses, and daffodils.

Below, I will briefly describe each area and what some of the key landmarks were. First, let me provide a quick historical overview of the significance of Poland today.

THE BALTIC SEA REGION
In August, I took the opportunity to drive up to the Baltic Sea region and cross the Danish Straits, one of the world's strategic maritime chokepoints. Despite being in Germany from 2004 to 2007 and recently since 2022, this trip was my first time heading north toward Denmark. As a fan of the historical dramas Vikings and Vikings: Valhalla, I looked forward to the area that inspired those shows. On a long weekend, I plotted my trip north that would include Hamburg, Germany; Copenhagen, Denmark; and Malmö, Sweden.
