Boom ta ra! the winners of the Write-a-witch challenge are...
Congratulations to all who entered the unofficial Vocal Write-a-witch awards. There were some truly magical entries and everyone's a winner as far as I am concerned. But of course in any such challenge, choices have to be made. I have selected the six winners, those that I think best match the given criteria. I now need your help in ranking the stories. Please read the linked stories and comment in this thread, on which one you think should be the overall winner. Of course feel free to comment on the stories themselves, but I will only be taking into account those comments that appear below.

It’s the First of the Month
We know it by many names. October. Spooky Season. Spooktober. …I’m sure there are more out there. Anyhow, with an increase in focus on the scary comes an influx of scary content. New horror book unveilings. New spooky challenges on Vocal, coinciding with a decided uptick in the number of unnerving stories making it to the front page with the vaunted crown of Top Story. They even decided to throw in a holiday at some point to cap it all off. Quiet prescient.

How human Cartilage from unused healthy joints is aiding with osteoarthritis treatments!
World arthritis day is celebrated on October 12. For many sufferers everywhere, the young and not so young, this is a bitter-sweet day. After all, who wants to be reminded of the pain they suffer on a daily basis, sometimes making sleep impossible, or walking a nightmare.

November Rain Challenge (unofficial)
What is a 6W6L poem, you ask? It is a poem that has six words per line and is six lines long. It is a form that I perfected over the last year. Dharrsheena Raja Segarran gave it its shortened name. It is relatively easy to write and fun, too.

My Best Friend.... Content Warning.
The first words I ever heard you say were a warning. You called to me, I went to my mother twice thinking it was her but then she told me to ask if it was you if I heard my name again. And Oh! Your still, small, sweet voice as it told me that something was coming but do not be afraid. I would be fine, everything would be fine. You would be there. A couple of weeks later, as my mother's car tossed and turned with us inside I knew this was it. You had warned me and I was calm because I knew, I knew that I would be fine and so would my mother. I closed my eyes and prayed that you would hold my hand. Next, you came to me in a dream...asked me to make a choice. You said that I would need protection to go through this life and all it had in store for me, I would need to choose. Would it be your army or Lucifer's that would offer me this protection? I whole heartedly chose your army to stand by my side. That has been almost 30 years ago and my oh my what a glorious few battles we've been through.
