Life
A Long Battle with Instant Gratification
Over the years, I've made myself available to random people who have questions about my transition. Sometimes, people contact me about surgeries, becoming a parent, or dealing with family, and those who don't accept them. When I talk to people who identify as trans about transitioning, I always place importance on thinking about the longer-term YOU. I made a lot of poor decisions initially. I can't say with certainty the decisions I've made and have internal conflicts with until this point in my transition will be another person's internal challenges.

Goals Achieved and Dreams Yet To Come
I'm not making any specific resolutions this year, for Vocal, or for anything else. As most people who set New Years Resolutions can tell you; that rarely ends in anything but disappointment, guilt, a lingering sense of shame and failure, and a general feeling of futility.

Keep Going Until I Make it Big
For the past six years since I have been on Vocal Media, I have published poetry, excerpt scripts, music critiques, film and TV critiques, biographies, celebrities, where are they now stories, true crime stories, personal stories, gadgets, tech, and history. Before I signed up on Vocal Media, I was unemployed and an aspiring writer trying to find a writing gig just to get my work to be noticed. I had completed my first play which had been unproduced and I was a stay-at-home single mother to my loving autistic son Xavier.

A Few Thoughts On Writing
Introduction These are more thoughts on writing, creating and what's been going through my head. I think I have stopped my self-censorship, resulting in several poems one after another, but I have also been getting some negative vibes which I am dealing with.

An open letter to all the hustlers. Content Warning.
To be or not to be, to go all in or to unwind and relax, we question our dreams, running in constant chase of our quests to come true, we are the ones who never sleep. Dreamers we are called, the ones who passionately strive in the endeavours of the best they could ever be, here is a letter to me, a letter to you. In the stride of embracing the best you have ever been, nurture your soul before the onset of the abundance in you that lies unseen.

2024
I don’t expect to achieve greatness in the next year. “Shoot for the moon, and you’ll land among the stars,” they say. But they never mention the fall. The shattering, devastating plummet into the self-criticizing abyss of failure. Forever tumbling and smashing into the nightmares of your shortcomings, the descent to the stars is a crash landing when all hope for achieving the dream is lost.

2024: Putting Myself Out There and Clearing My Plate
Happy New Year! 2023 is now behind us, and I can’t help but say “good riddance”. It was a rough year for me, and I know I’m not the only one who felt that way. Mentally, emotionally, financially, and creatively 2023 felt like the year I hit several new low points. I’m all too happy to close that book and look toward 2024 with more motivation and optimism (especially after finally taking a proper and much-needed vacation last month).

Another Year of Writings and Ramblings
Truly understanding who I am as an artist is something that I’ve always struggled with. The nature of being a creative is that I dabble across the creative arts but the nature of society is that we're encouraged to stick to one thing, to have a clear identifier. We’re expected to label ourselves, to put ourselves into a box that makes it easier for other people to make sense of us, but as an artist, it can be difficult to understand and define the parameters in which you work because exploration, experimentation and fluidity are so instrumental in what it is that we do, so much so that those parameters don’t really exist at all.

Romanticisation And Trivialization Of Mental Health
Romanticisation And Trivialization Of Mental Health Romanticisation of mental health Generation Z has made it clear that they consider themselves one of if not the most open generation. This is not surprising as they grew up in the age of technology, with so much information at their fingertips. This allowed them to have different perspectives on issues at an early age, making them more likely to discuss them openly. Specifically, Gen Z has widened the gap between mental health and stigma, with 27% able to report their mental health as fair or poor (Bethune). Although the destruction of mental health is a big step forward, it also brought a new problem: the love of mental illness. For many, the internet has become a way to cope with their mental illness, allowing for open discussion on topics such as depression, anxiety, and eating disorders. However, the Internet has created a place for people to think about mental illness.
