Nana's Desk
In response to a writing prompt — what is the oldest thing that you use every day? One of my most cherished possessions, and the oldest thing I use daily, is my Nana’s desk. This beloved relic of my daily existence is a testament to the enduring legacy of my Nana-an exquisite dark walnut secretary, which I lovingly still referred to as her desk.

Boom ta ra! the winners of the Write-a-witch challenge are...
Congratulations to all who entered the unofficial Vocal Write-a-witch awards. There were some truly magical entries and everyone's a winner as far as I am concerned. But of course in any such challenge, choices have to be made. I have selected the six winners, those that I think best match the given criteria. I now need your help in ranking the stories. Please read the linked stories and comment in this thread, on which one you think should be the overall winner. Of course feel free to comment on the stories themselves, but I will only be taking into account those comments that appear below.

November Rain Challenge (unofficial)
What is a 6W6L poem, you ask? It is a poem that has six words per line and is six lines long. It is a form that I perfected over the last year. Dharrsheena Raja Segarran gave it its shortened name. It is relatively easy to write and fun, too.

Still looking for ideas for your 'under a spell' entry?. Top Story - October 2023.
Bless you! What's that if not a magic spell? Well I guess it could be a prayer but then again... what's the difference? "Happy birthday to you" is a line from a song. But if you sing it and then ask the birthday girl or boy to blow out candles on a cake, then surely that's a spell too? I once heard a talk about magic that made just this point.
