The Effect Of Images On Our Vocal Stories
A Few Recent Ones For Example

Introduction
This is just a short piece about the effect of images pulling in readers on my three most recent stories.
The Effect Of Images
The three images above at first, just the outer two seemed to attract readers (not my stories don't get many reads so you won't see me on the Leader Board for Hearts) but the outer two initially had eight and eleven and the middle two.
I thought this was because the outer two had engaging pictures and the middle one was just a web page that was down. So initially it looks like a picture can tempt people into your story, in fact, one new reader came in because they like forests and liked the picture.
As the day has gone one more person has read and hearted the middle one for some reason, and that is probably not for the picture.
Although there are times when the main image has to be something that looks a little boring, especially if it is an article like this, so it will be interesting to see how this one goes.
Sometimes it is the title that grabs people, but I know a striking image will often pull me in, and a great title or image can help you find a new writer, and similarly help new readers find you.
So I know the Forest Shower one worked and the Truth and Lies one did too, although the latter may have been more the title, as it is a playlist.
I suppose spammers try to pull people in with promises of easy money, and love interests, but you often see the caveat "up to" which always includes the value of zero although that is seldom pointed out.
Conclusion
Thank you so much for reading, and would love to hear your thoughts on these various subjects.

Any one single element (author, title, subject matter, cover art), can be effective in drawing me in. But a gestalt always works best.
Ugh, the spammers! They will come mo matter what our image or title is, lol. For me, it's the title that hooks me more than images
I think it totally depends on the reader and the image. If it strikes a chord with someone, they are likely to open the story. If they like what they see, they read it. If not, they close it and move on. Others I know do not even look at the image but rather focus on the title.
Thank you everyone for you comments and observations here
For me, it's an equally mixed bag. While images draw me, a title seals the deal.
Pictures do add a lot of meaning to the article or story, but for me it is the title that gets me to read. Good job.
I think pictures hook you into a story - same with book covers. If I don't like the look of it, I'm *probably* not going to bother. Really interesting article Mike.
Images are most important. I always try to get the best ones for my articles,
I love the Kinks track you picked, and I think you have a valid point here!
I agree that images can draw a reader in, but so can a title. Sometimes, I struggle more with titles than images, as I love to draw, photograph and render. Great Kinks tune too - thanks for the classic.
The image has a lot to do with drawing readers in, as does the title of the story, IMHO. Too bad the SPAMMERs know this also
Very Insightful!
Absolutely agree with you on this. Pictures count. They grab the reader or they hold no interest. And yes the Spammers know this as well
