Currently, including the People's Liberation Army and the People's Armed Police Force, there are a total of 44 active military academies, categorized into four levels: Deputy Theater Command Level, Full Army Level, Deputy Army Level, and Full Division Level. The Deputy Theater Command Level academy is unique, known as the prestigious National Defense University. The Full Army Level academies are slightly more numerous, totaling six, which are the Army Command Academy, Naval Command Academy, Air Force Command Academy, Rocket Force Command Academy, Armed Police Command Academy, and the National University of Defense Technology. It should be noted that among the six active Full Army Level military academies in China, only the National University of Defense Technology is open for enrollment from the general public and has five major campuses.
