Cyclone Alfred
Iām the latest newsflash plastered across silver screens. Alfred! Iām sneaky! Arenāt we all? Every tropical cycloneās mandate is to shake people out of complacency. I did that! Much more fun than visiting Far North Queensland. They expect us. They build their houses strong enough to keep us āBig Bad Wolvesā from blowing them over! In fact, they seem almost disappointed if we skip a year!

Can I whip it into shape?. Top Story - March 2025.
How hard could it be, to write an absurd story? After all, life is one constant struggle reigning in absurd behaviour and thinking. Strolling alongside the creek with my daughter and beloved dog, I shared my ābrilliantā story ideas. Then I hustled home to record them before they fell out of my sieve of a brain.

New friends.... Runner-Up in Absurdist Awakening Challenge.
My 7:30 am alarm buzzes as I snatch up the keys to my āBlue Bugā. The roller door moans upwards as I hastily select a cheerful playlist to speed me across town. āOh, for a quick trip to work.ā Todayās delay crossing an endless chain of highway traffic, is mercifully brief. Blue Bug leaps out and seamlessly slots in between a tortoise and hare. āOff to a good start, for once.ā Cruising up to the traffic lights I wish the trip could be varied instead of the same boring route until the end of time. Soon, the Turn Right Lane looms. Before I realise, weāre zipping off to the left. āNo, No, No!ā Too late! A sea of vibrant metal popcorn engulfs us ā rushing this way and that ā we pour with it, now heading west. Mind racing along with Blue Bug, I frantically strive for damage control whilst resigning myself to the bleak prospect of a late arrival.

WāOtter Day!
Sleep is rudely torn asunder⦠rent by the neighbourhood āRooster Alarm clockā! As usual. Rascally rooster! I moan. Blearily, I peer at the electronic clock ā squatting on my bed-head ā beaming arctic numerals. My 5:00 am alarm erupts into a cacophony of sound. Blinking in bewilderment, I spy four ruby red roosters cavorting across the dark display, crowing chaotically! Frantically I fumble⦠desperate to silence this insane instrument of torment.

The race against time. Top Story - February 2025.
A nostalgic wave hits me as I glance down at the book clutched tightly in my grasp⦠āA Wrinkle in Timeā. A kaleidoscope of colour swirls dizzily around me⦠or am I spinning inside a massive paint pot of rainbow hues? Magenta mixes with turquoise and liquid gold. Each strand of coloured āthreadā unspooling⦠playfully looping around its neighbour, winding around me. The vertiginous sight is startling and exhilarating. Tingling āpins and needlesā prick my extremities⦠fingers and toes twitch. Tinkling notes of a glockenspiel gently dance around me⦠a joyous anthem, unknown but somehow familiar.

Celebrating⦠Coconut Cake!
āYou'll Always Find Me In The Kitchen At Partiesā is an outrageous lie! Whilst I liked the 1980ās quirky song by Jona Lewie ā and I love food ā I loathe cooking! Parties = People. When push comes to shove, I will always choose fraternising over food. You might find me in the kitchen at some parties, chatting as I roll up my sleeves to splash around in the sink. Iām never alone and definitely not hiding out in the kitchen! Abhorrent thought!
