Snow Turn
My name is John Frost. I’ve been out in the mountains for a few days with my family for the holidays. I wish I had known it was gonna snow before I came. I drove to the store to get some last minute things before the weather got bad, but my truck stalled out in the storm. Now I’m walking in the cold trying to make it back to my family on foot.

Happy heavenly birthday, Aaliyah Dana Haughton. You would be 45 years of age if you were still alive today. Born January 16, 1979 to Diane and Michael Haughton, Aaliyah grew up to be the princess of R&B and the most iconic Hip Hop and R&B act that rose to prominence in the 90’s and the early 2000’s.

Kings Never Die
Hello Dr. King. My name is Joseph Patterson. We’ve never met before, but we do know each other and I just wanted to wish you a happy birthday. I wanna write you a letter for your birthday and tell you about how we’ve been doing down here since that fateful day you left us back in 1968. First off I just wanna let you know I really look up to you and admire you. Though I’ve always shared more in the views of the brother Malcolm X, I admire you and respect you just as much because at the end of the day we needed you both equally, especially Black people. So you might be wondering what the world has been up to since you’ve been gone, well that’s a lot to unpack, but I’ll keep it simple.

Selma or Else. Content Warning.
Hi, my name is Selma. I am a 20 year old young Black female who has joined the associates of Dr. Martin Luther King in their march from Selma, Alabama to Montgomery, Alabama. It’s funny isn’t it, I’m marching to a place that I was named after to take part in a protest that is dedicated to helping people like me. We as African Americans have only been free for barely a century and yet we are still just as oppressed as when they first brought us here in chains. Dr. Martin Luther King and his wife Coretta are two leaders in our community who have been at the forefront of our fight for freedom, justice, and equality.

Josh and Carmen are getting their house ready for their friends arrival for their weekly couples game night with dinner. “How long before the wreckin’ crew arrives?” Carmen asked sarcastically. “Well you know Olivia and Stephen are probably playing lovey dovey on the way here, where as Giselle and Tyrone will probably kill each other before they get here. You know they can’t resist a good squabble.” Josh replied sarcastically.
