On this day 33 years ago in 1990, the television network CBS premiered the film It, based on the 1986 Stephen King novel of the same name. The film would no doubt become one of the most influential horror films of all time due to its uniquely imaginative and disturbing psychological take on primal fear and what happens when it is unearthed.

The day is Thanksgiving and Evan Waters is a young ticket agent who works at RDU airport and has nowhere to be. His family doesn’t connect like they used to during the holidays and all of his friends have gone out of town to visit their families. Working next to him is an elderly woman by the name of Estelle. She has been a ticket agent for RDU for nearly 40 years.

Sand of a Sailor
Ruby has been a sailor in the U.S. Navy for the past two years. She is about to get on a flight home to go visit her daughter and her fiancé, who she met in the navy. She couldn’t be more excited. She was honored to have served her country and is now going to be married soon. While leaving her Naval base in Virginia she was headed to the airport to board her flight home to Hercules, California. While at the airport she crossed paths with some of her fellow sailors who were also on their way home. She ran into one of them just as she was getting ready to board her flight. “Hey Spencer!” one of her sailor friends called out. “Before you head home I just wanna tell you that you’re one heck of a sailor. I can tell the military really does run in your blood. Your parents and grandparents should be very proud of you for serving your country with honor.”

Marvelite
Marvelite - someone who is a big fan of the Marvel Comics brand. Taraja Jordyn woke up this morning and realized he was a “Marvelite” - someone who has a fanatic love for the Marvel Comics brand. He woke up that morning excited because the movie Deadpool 3 was coming out in theaters that night and he was going to see it with a group of his friends. After getting a shower he got dressed in a pair of blue jeans sporting a Wolverine T-shirt. It was a little cold outside so he was going to need some arm wear and decided to grab his Avengers jacket. As if that wasn’t enough he also wanted to be stylish so he put on his daredevil beanie, along with a silver X-Men necklace he loved to wear.

Strangerisagift
Strangerisagift - the occurrence of always running into strangers who are very kind. Ally is a sweet 12 year old girl who always runs into something she calls “Strangerisagift”. Ally loved the thought of coming across strangers while living daily life because you just never knew what beauty they held in store from her interactions with them. Ally left her house at 11 a.m. on Saturday morning to take her favorite walk. Just a block away from her house she encountered a homeless man who she had never seen before. The man didn’t have a sign up asking for money, but she reached in her pocket and gave him a dollar anyway. As she was walking away the man stopped her and said “the kindness in your heart is a beautiful gift that will one day change the world”. This comment made her smile.

ThanksGazm
ThanksGazm - Blissful satisfaction from thanksgiving dinner. Marla woke up on the morning of Thanksgiving and her stomach was growling in anticipation for the dinner she was going to at her family’s house. She had a talk with her friend Rudy the day before who told her about something called a “Thanksgazm”which is when you feel an overwhelming bliss from eating a great thanksgiving dinner. Marla was as curious to see if she could have one almost as much as she was hungry for all the great food she knew her mom and grandma cooked.

A Trick of Treats
I absolutely love this time of the year. Today is October 31st, Halloween. Over 20 years ago when I was a kid I used to love to dress up in a costume and go trick or treating with my friends. Today I am 30 years old and now it’s my turn to be the adult who passes out candy to all the excited children of the land who come knocking at my door.

Clive Bradley is an established lawyer who works for the firm Laurence & Ferrell. Clive seemingly has the life that most individuals think they want. He has a great career, big house, nice car and he is socially appealing. He comes from a great family, he has a great circle of friends and a beautiful woman named Claire who has eyes on him who he has yet to make an official relationship with. However, there is one hinderance in Clive’s life that keeps him from being fulfilled: his greedy spirit.
