Fifth Grade Friendship Poll
I’m sitting on the closed toilet at home holding a creased and folded square of paper in my hands, afraid to open it. It all started that morning. I’m 10 years old, new girl in, just transferred to this school. I have the fun teacher for homeroom, the one that likes to do crafts. The one that helps with the music program. That’s a plus.

My First Job Could Have Been My Last

Sidonglobophobia and Misophonia

In Sweden, they call this 'knarra', which translates into 'creak' I call it ginchy and have used that word for as long as I can remember.

We Move in the Direction That We Face
When I was 15 my boyfriend told me I was beautiful. I believed him. When I looked into the mirror I saw a pretty girl looking back at me. When I was 16 my parents told me I was fat. I believed them. When I looked into the mirror I saw a fat girl. The pretty girl was gone. I must have eaten her.
