OH, JEFF... The shortlist
What can I say? The results of this challenge have been nothing short of phenomenal. A few weeks ago, I posted a copy of Roy Lichtenstein, Oh Jeff I love you, with a suggestion to complete the story that the artist left hanging with the speech bubble words.

Roman and proud of it
Wasn't going to write a review of the feature film Conclave, and this was not intended to be one. Rather, this piece highlights some of the moments in the movie that I found particularly moving. I guess this amounts to a review but I have not weighed up the good and the bad. Just saying what I liked, and that the experience was much more enriching than anticipated. You can make up your own mind, if and when you go to see it.

Hard rain fall. Top Story - December 2024.
Couple of weeks ago, I talked to some young people about Bob Dylan and the new Searchlight Pictures movie A Complete Unknown. It was clear from the way they spoke that, even if they had heard of Dylan, they were not familiar with any of his music. Unlike (say) The Beatles, Bob Dylan was very much of his generation. Beatles songs continue because they have a sort of timelessness to them and have been widely emulated by the likes of Britpop band Oasis, among others. Dylan's music lived, and kinda died, with the hippy era of free love, peace and anti-war protest. Those young people who have never heard songs such as Like a Rolling Stone are going to hear a lot more of Dylan this year.

All or nothing on Christmas day
This Christmas Day, Wednesday December 25, is an auspicious day in more ways that in has been in previous years. Why? Because it is the final day in 2024 when my infallible system for winning UK Lotto will have a chance to show its worth.

Birthday blessings
Just passed another annual anniversary threshold. Not saying exactly which day, as I don't like to put markers on my timeline. You won't find one on Facebook, because I don't care much for auto-greetings, even though I use the prompt to wish others a happy birthday.
