Fire; A cautionary tale
The California mountain was on fire. Each spark flew into the sky like it was desperate to escape. It looked like lave pouring from a volcano. Yet it moved like a tsunami. All the animals had sense fled. The people a little slower in leaving. She stood on the balcony, mesmerized. The only thing she knew for sure was her world was disappearing beneath the flames. Before it could reach the city edge a few blocks from her. A hand grabbed her arm and carried her to a car. Which drove off with the high wind tailing behind. Happiness contained in a little flower
Interesting to say - maybe to better understanding and identifying this beautiful flower, Calendula is also known as Marigold. For me, to be eating flowers u had to turn into a rabbit, big long ears and be hopping everywhere. Be soft and fluffy snd cute to anybody, specially kids.

Global Warming
The global climate is changing rapidly compared to pre-industrial times, and there is several evidence that these changes are having an impact on organisms, ecosystems and human systems (high confidence). The increase in global mean surface temperature (GMST) compared to 1850 and 1900, 0, reached between 2006 and 2015 ; the increase in frequency and magnitude of these impacts is very encouraging ; this indicates that a rise in GMST of 1.5 ° C or more will have an impact on natural or human systems, regardless of whether this increase is 1.6 ° C to 2 ° C.

Brood X periodical cicadas and the amazing history of their first description
I see the first pictures and videos on Twitter of Brood X periodical cicadas. The tone in the comments is still one of pleasant surprise for the first sightings of one or perhaps a couple of these unique insects. Soon their volume will rise to unimaginable numbers. It would be a fascinating social media project to follow the sentiment of the average cicada tweet in the next few weeks. I expect that some of you may find them less pleasant before this month is over, when billions of cicadas will celebrate the best month of their lives.

Spending more time in nature is good for you; here is why.
In the late afternoon, I felt tired. Today had been a long day, and I wasn't happy with the still unanswered emails in my inbox. Instead of an extra push of work behind my desk, I left my computer, got on my bicycle, and went to a nearby park.
