Grammar In Isolation
The prevailing theory in the modern university classroom, as developed by education bigwigs and based upon their unequivocal research, is that teachers must never give their classes lessons on grammar isolated from other aspects of text. The reasons why sound very compelling to a young teacher or teacher-candidate. The student is easily bored and therefore apt to immediately forget whatever was taught, especially when returning to the realm of available modern technology, where a blind trust in the authority of spell-checkers enables adolescents (and too many adults also) to tolerably get by in the world without looking too much the fools. Education gurus therefore assert that we address grammar as a secondary tier upon methods and concepts that are more likely to hold the students' attention because of their deeper involvement with the text. Perhaps while examining an author's point-of-view (first or third-person) we should look for subject-verb agreement. Perhaps in a wider discourse on description we should find a teachable moment in which to caution against the comma-splice.

The Use of Still-Capture Within a Physical Education Lesson
The wider recognition of pupils’ diverse learning needs has led to variations in pedagogical approaches. In modern society, technological determinism emphasises the potential inevitable integration of information and communications technology (ICT) within an educational setting to assist in meeting those needs. When used appropriately to facilitate learning, the multiplatform structure of ICT has the potential to provide alternative and suitable experiences to all young people, whereby Vygotsky’s (1978) theory of social constructivism suggests social experiences help to articulate ideas and lead to continuous personalised learning and development, in which all pupils should be supported to make progress.

The Life of a PhD Student
Whilst studying for my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree, I had a vision that I would do a PhD. This dream saw me swanning around in a white lab coat, performing faultless experiments and producing groundbreaking data with a P value of <0.001. My publications would be globally recognised, and my career would be accelerated into the gateway of medical research. I would be lauded for my contribution to research and my expertise envied in the field. The reality is very different!

Higher Education and the Existential Crisis
It's 10:08 AM on a Tuesday morning. I don't yet know if not bringing a jacket was a mistake or not because they're aren't windows in the lecture theatre. What It's like to Be Bullied
After spending 14 years of my 20-year life in school I can simply say that these school years were, and most probably are, going to be the worst years of my life. Compared to most people who have experienced school, they can say whether they were one of the "popular" kids, smart kids, "average" kids or just the kids that were never really taken much notice of during their years at school. However, I have only met a handful of people who I know that have been bullied to either nearly the extent that I had been bullied to or some even worse to what I had experience.
