From Graveyard to Sanctuary
I don't know if my story is all that much different from others that have gone vegan. Well, that's not fully true. I initially tired it to impress a girl. Yes, I tried to stop eating meat to impress a girl. Now, I know that's not the best reason to do anything in life, but like most guys courting a beautiful young lady, I wanted to put my best foot forward to stimulate her interest in me. I met her online and one of the first things I found out was that she identified as vegan. At the time, I had a basic understanding of what being vegan meant. They don't consume any animal products, they love animals, blah blah blah. I even looked up the definition of the word which said: a vegetarian who omits all animal products from their diet and a person who does not use any animal products such as leather and wool. Okay, that's good, but I'm the type of person who "goes hard or goes home" and since I really wanted an opportunity to date this girl I dove deep into the world of veganism and got a lot more then I bargained for.

5 Supermarket Secrets You Probably Didn't Know About
Supermarkets: they’re everywhere, and unless you’re some sort of robot that doesn’t need to eat, you can’t really avoid shopping there. The reality is that human beings need food and — let’s be real — most of us aren’t growing our own wheat or milking our own cows, so the supermarket remains the preeminent point of interaction between us, the consumer, and the vast, faceless food industry. While the source of our foods seems increasingly distant nowadays, the dominance of supermarkets in delivering food products to customers has not always been the case.

Best Places to Eat: Gluten Free
When I was first diagnosed with ceoliac disease, going for meals with friends or family sounded like a nightmare. There was the constant dread of being an annoyance to staff and company or the possibility of there being no options available. When I went out for food I would always look at a menu and just assume what would be gluten free. For a while I lived off of salads and chicken which, though I adore a good salad, eventually became very boring. After a while I finally plucked up the confidence to just tell the waiter or waitress my eating requirements. Turns out that a large percent of the time restaurants actually have an entire different menu for alternative eating requirements.

Why Am I Vegan? More Importantly, Why Are You Not?
I often get asked why I am vegan and I usually struggle to articulate a response. Not because I don’t know my own reasons, but I fear that no matter what I say, the person asking already has made up their mind that I’m a raving loony. And I am, really. But not for this reason — that’s another blog post entirely.

A Little Known Use for LaCroix
A few years ago, I started listening to a podcast called Trends Like These. A few months ago, the hosts decided to start each episode with a segment where they would tell each other what they were drinking. More often than not, one of them would be drinking a beverage called LaCroix, and they would talk about how good it tasted and how much they loved it. So, as soon as I found out I could get some, I went to Target and bought a few different flavors.
