How to Be a Foodie When You're Broke
It's tough to be a foodie when you're broke. You see all your friends going to craft breweries and burger bars, and you can't even afford the garnish. It makes a guy or gal sad. It's the opposite of empowering, and definitely not the enjoyable moment the taste buds have been begging for. The thing is, you can still love food, and be a foodie, with what you have in your very broke pantry and in a super stripped down fridge and freezer.

Healthy DIY Snacks
The Story Behind My Decision to Eat Healthier (Healthier is there for a reason.) Have you ever wanted a snack but couldn't find anything that was both healthy and filling? Eating healthy doesn't have to sound so frightening. We all want to eat better, so we can live a long and healthy life. Trust me, I have always been the "Let's grab a brownie from the nearest cake shop," or "How about let's go to a fast food restaurant instead?" type of gal. It was all mashed potatoes and gravy until the day I got married and started a family. I had my family's health to consider when choosing what to eat. Could I have really just gone to a fast food restaurant every day? I could have, but I made a wiser decision. I'm going to be honest, my husband was quite worried at first. He questioned my healthy snacks and dinners 100 percent of the time. With a little practice and patience, my husband now requests that we eat my famously healthy foods. Who would have thought? Now, my next task will have to be convincing my children to like it just as much as he does! Well, enough about me, let's get to it. I have discovered two DIY healthy snacks that keep you fuller longer. :)

Becoming a Queen (or King!) of Leftovers
Souper Douper <3 Hello! I’m Natalie, founder of Fairypants cosmetics, and I am you. Queen of Leftovers came about after I moved in with my then-boyfriend. We spent lots of time redesigning our house so it was perfect. We both worked full time, and managed to squeeze in time with our friends and family. However, I also decided I wanted to be the perfect housewife. I’m not so good at the whole cleaning thing, so for me it was more about my love of food, and wanting to keep exploring and building on my knowledge.

Really, Maple Syrup Maple Sausages!
Hello, I'm Stef, I really really enjoy concocting new meals or even amping up stuff I've already made. I started cooking and baking with my Grandma at a very young age and found it to be my passion through the years, collecting more along the way, stashing my recipes in a black box where no one can see them. So I have decided to start sharing what I make since a lot of friends and family say I can really cook or bake!

DIY Spicy Chai
I was experimenting today with a few of the many essential oils I have. Not only have I created a new favourite recipe for chai tea, but I have also found a method that is easy for me being a busy working woman. Chai with freshly ground spices is absolutely the best but when in a pinch we have to resort to something a little less time consuming. I’ve tried chai flavoured tea, liquid chai mix, pre packaged chai spices. None of this is nearly as satisfying as having a fresh traditional chai at your local Indian cafe or restaurant, let’s be honest! Well I’m happy to say I’ve found the next best thing! I use doTERRA essential oils because they pride themselves on the purity and quality of their products.

Macarons a la Moron
Its 10pm, 24 days and counting till exams, and I'm banging my head against an economics text book. My solution is macarons! I run to the local shop, pick up all necessary ingredients and return home feeling hopeful and ready to create a masterpiece! I first learnt to make macarons in a baking class last summer and haven't been able to recreate them as perfectly since, and I decide tonight is the night. But who would've guessed that cheap scales, loud whisking, and my unhealthy obsession of watching 90210 reruns would be the cause of my downfall.
