The effects of coffee, or should I say, the lack of coffee.
I love my wife, she’s a wonderful, loving, caring, beautiful lady, who I have been married to for 45 years. She’s my best friend. I trust her implicitly. I’m her best friend, and she trusts me Implicitly as well. I know everything about her, what makes her laugh, what music she loves, what movies she watches. We finish eachother’s sentences. So it sounds like we are good together, right? Well, we are, but I have to walk a straight line between carefree loving and knowing when not to cross that line. Even by mistake. Like making sure I don’t run out of coffee in the can in the kitchen cupboard, let alone a backup can in the pantry. It’s the little things like that, forgetting to give her some morning coffee, which can take her over the edge, and bring out the inner monster. It’s a scary thing to behold, and after seeing it once, I never want to see it again. How can something so hideous and nightmarish be inside my beautiful wife, lurking in there and come out attacking over something so trivial as coffee? But it’s not just my wife, We have a friend that is so sweet and amenial to everyone, even people who are mean to her. But if she doesn’t get her morning cup of coffee, sometimes even two or three cups, with an extra shot of espresso thrown in, the inner monster comes out roaring, and heaven help you if you are in front of her. It can be shocking. That could explain road rage, and mass killings at schools. Coffee is a necessary drink to have to suppress the monster inside. You definitely don’t want to release it into the general population. So maybe I’m kind of exaggerating, but only a little. If they don’t have their morning fix and boost of caffeine, they are discobulated all day, and makes life miserable for everyone around them, and especially their closest friends…ie, their spouse. In the case of my wife, that means me. Oh, and by the way, my wife, who read this story, made me say that it is a fictional story, especially about her inner monster.
