5 Things to Not Say to a Vegan!
The Vegan 'movement' has taken off at an enormous rate in recent years, and with celebrities everywhere promoting the cause, (think Joaquin, Di Caprio and Pamela Anderson to name but a few) more and more of us are ditching dairy, saying ''meh'' to meat, and ''see-ya'' to sushi.

5 Ways to Substitute for Meat
As a former diehard carnivore, I understand the appeal of a nice big slab of AAA Top Sirloin cooked medium rare and eaten fresh off of the barbecue. However, I can also vouch for the physiological benefits of cutting down on meat consumption. Maybe not entirely, but substantially.

I’ve Been a Vegetarian for 6 Years and This is What I Learned
We were approaching the end of 2014. Two of my best friends had recently become vegan. They started talking to me about their experience and the reasons that led them there. I listened. I followed their suggestions and watched some documentaries. I saw things that I can not unsee ever again. And in the space of a few weeks I got more and more convinced that me too, I needed to make a change.

The Choice
We ended 2020 with surf and turf and an evening gaming with members of our safe six. Way back in the before, on March 14, 2020, we'd decided that the eight of us would be our safe group. And none of us would see other people without masks except in very special circumstances and that when that happened, we'd quarantine and warn the others in our group.

The Truth Behind a Plant-Based Lifestyle
The whole thing started as a fluke. A dinner with my girlfriend at Nando’s gone wrong. Eight hours in the Georgetown University Hospital, two Xrays, a tube shoved up my nose, and a pint of Halotop later led me to sware off meat for a few days. I’ll spare you the details of what happened, but know this; those days turned into weeks and weeks into months.

Is it safe to say you're often met with disbelief and replies such as, "Why don't you just eat eggs"? A lot of vegetarian food has high quantities of protein which helps build and maintain muscle or simply live a healthy lifestyle without having to revert to animal protein.

Confessions of an Ex-Carnivore
Growing up I never once ate a vegetable. Granted, my mother couldn’t cook so my introduction to vegetables consisted of a frozen block of welfare rations thrown into a boiling pot of water. I was repulsed by the rubbery texture and lack of seasonings to counteract the freezer burn so, quite honestly, I just assumed that this is what vegetables tasted like. And never would I subject myself to such gag-inducing torture ever again.

Why be Vegetarian
After Reading “the omnivore's dilemma” by Michael Pollan, the book opened my eye to such a big subject. We, as human beings, have a long history on this planet. We may not know how we started on this planet, but we know that we did all that we could to survive and live for another day. We had to kill other animals to eat and survive. However, after a very long time using the method of killing to live, we finally found another source of food that is good enough to keep us alive and healthy. That source is farming. We somehow learned how to plant seeds and get vegetables and fruits that can give us our need for protein and vitamins to live. With that said so, people should adopt a vegetarian diet because vegetarian food is better for the body, easier to have, and will save animals' life.
