Dear Santa,

Still waiting on that pool.

I hope you won't be late with the presents this year Santa because of that covid thing. I hope you don't get covid Santa. That would be really bad. Maybe you should wear a mask just in case. I've put one of my masks in the envelope for you, if you need it. It's got Avengers on it.

How's Rudolph? We left carrots out for the reindeer last year but they didn't get eaten. Kennedy was really upset. She cried. She and Mum made special care and cut them into tiny pieces, one for each reindeer. Dad said they must be full from snacking all night. Mum said they need to start thinking of others. I reckon they just don't like carrots. Yuck! This year, I'm leaving them a bowl of water, some of my brother's protein drink and some Tim Tams.

We drove around and saw all the Christmas lights the other night Santa. Tom didn't want to come. He says he's too old for Christmas lights. You're never too old for Christmas lights, everyone knows that. My Mum and Dad love them! My Aunty Nicole came with us to see the lights too. Dad wasn't happy about that. He says she should have her own kids and take them instead. Mum says it's hard to meet people when you're older. Aunty Nicole didn't want any of the Tim Tams this year because she's on a diet. She says this will help her find a boyfriend and then she'll be happy. Maybe you know someone Santa? She's fat like you are but she doesn't like beards cause she gets itchy skin sometimes. Do you have any sons Santa?

Mum made us three kids sit down and write our names in all the family Christmas cards this year. There were so many. Maybe twenty. My hand got sore. Tom told Mum she should write our names, she knows them, she named us. Mum said Dad picked our names. I knew Tom was named after Dad's dad. We love Grandpa. Kennedy was Nan's last name before she married Grandpa. Mum didn't tell me before but I was named after Dad's mate who was good at footy. He died in a car crash when they were still at school. Mum said if she got her way, she would have called me Bert after her favourite uncle and some famous pilot. He died young too Santa! I'm a bit worried really.

Just so you know, I got a B for piano this year. Not everyone plays an instrument at my school. But it does get us out of class. Don't tell anyone but I wanted to play guitar. I changed my mind though when I saw Miss Georgie. She's the piano teacher. She's Greek, Santa. She has really long curly hair that she ties up on top of her head. She plays hockey and likes sports. Well, I like her. Miss Georgie's really smart and even goes to university. I could pick any song I wanted from Book 2 and I got to play it at the recital. I picked the song from The Lord of The Rings because I thought Miss Georgie would like that one. It was so hard but I practised all the time. Mum and Dad were so proud of me that we got to have Macca's for dinner that night. Mum told Dad to make his meat pies for dinner instead. Dad said, “Bugger that”.

Santa, I made a really cool cardboard Christmas Tree during art and crafts. Mum put it under our tree at home and I'll leave it on the kitchen table so you can see it when you drop off my presents. We had a Christmas breakfast on the last day at school and all the parents were invited. Miss Georgie came too and she made some Greek Christmas biscuits. They were delicious. My Mum loved those Greek biscuits and got me to get a few extra from the table for her. Miss Georgie gave Mum the recipe and I asked Mum to make some especially for you on Christmas Eve. Mum said she'll try her best but she's very busy because we're having Christmas lunch at my house this year. Mum's not happy because Uncle Dan drinks too much but Dad said it wouldn't be Christmas without him. Mum told Dad he can sit next to Uncle Dan and he has to go home before dark. If Mum doesn't make those Greek biscuits in time, I'll leave out extra Tim Tams right next to the reindeer's. If you give me that pool I want, we'll be swimming all afternoon. That'll be a great Christmas Day.

From,

Matthew
