The tops of hills lay glazed in hues of pink and purple. The setting sun cast its final goodbyes across the land, bathing all in lightness.
As they sat atop the highest peak, legs swaying, dangling, hanging down, they thought back about how they got there.
How did they get there?
For the fear of heights had always clung to their breath. Shakiness, unsteadiness, even when climbing into bed at times.
But on this day, on this setting, filled with good-byes day, there was calm.
Maybe it was something in the pink and purple.
Maybe it was in the drop.

The Devil's Triangle
The sails ruffled in the breeze as we cruised along. The Sea Breeze was a mid-size catamaran that sailed out of Royal Naval Dockyard in Bermuda. We had booked this trip weeks in advance and were now looking at our Captain, Spike and two boat hands. Paddy and Wilson seemed like nice guys, joking around with the passengers and telling us some stories about Bermuda that only locals would know. Their island accents sounded almost British but they were pleasant to listen to.

Hippieland Vol. 3
"Stay groovy," I exclaim as I finish my timeslot at 12pm. I stand and step away from the DJ booth. Musicians filter in as I walk through the studio room. The common room is filling up with artists. Hippie's Hangout springs alive as it re-opens following the deep cleaning. I normally sit down in the common room and observe the atmosphere. People carry their tools of their art. Magic, our resident 12pm to 4pm DJ, walks through the room, nodding at me, towards the studio room. He spins a lot of soulful music. He's an African gentleman in his fifties who DJ'd in several countries for a couple of decades. Sometimes he plays fascinating tribal music. Magic's been with us for a few years now.

Lately, I'm empty
Lately, I feel an emptiness inside of me that doesn’t make any sense. I was fine a week ago and now I’m numb to the pain that I’ve been carrying around. Numb to the idea of me existing. I wish I could go to a place where I can hear happy positive thoughts and surround myself with joy. The medication I’m on doesn’t seem to work anymore. I still feel pain from existing, why am I here anyways? Merely to exist. I don’t feel like I’m making any differences being here.
