Top Five Tornadoes In American History
Spring officially arrives on March 20th. I look forward to flowers poking up through the thawing soil, birds singing, and the warmer days after a brutally cold winter. But, with the Spring, comes the threat of one of nature's most devastating natural disasters, tornadoes. No Country on the planet is immune to this natural phenomenon. According to weatherwizkids.com, "A tornado is a violent rotating column of air extending from a thunderstorm to the ground. The most violent tornadoes are capable of tremendous destruction with wind speeds of up to 300 mph. They can destroy large buildings, uproot trees and hurl vehicles hundreds of yards. They can also drive straw into trees." In other words, even though there is a great temptation to run outdoors and gawk at the skies when the tornado siren wails, the wise move is to take cover.

A Taste of Time
In my time of youthful innocence, I had dreams of grandeur. I wanted to be Indiana Jane, bush whacking through wildernesses and surviving the elements in search of a part of us we lost. I pursued this dream for a moment, brief though it was, before the bitter realities of life’s demands set in. In my pursuits, I learned some interesting things along the way. One of my favorite tidbits was how to distinguish bone fragments from pottery shards.

Stephenie Meyer, the genius author of this series managed to create the plot line from a dream she’d had. It’s every young writer’s fairytale come true. The perfect book idea just gift wrapped to you while you’re sleeping! Sadly, we do not all have that kind of luck, but fortunately Stephenie did and through that dream she managed to create the captivating romantic tale of Bella Swan, a girl from Arizona who moves to Washington state, meets, and falls in love with a vampire named Edward Cullen.

Past lives and reincarnation: what was once a hokey New Age theory is now a viral TikTok trend. Using a YouTube video to induce a state of hypnosis, TikTok users are emerging from their alleged hypnotic state with wild claims. Some say they discovered they “let the Trojan Horse in” during a battle in ancient Greece; others say their past lives were more recent, and that they died on 9/11 or caused the death of Princess Diana in 1997.

Mushrooms can grow under water and survive in space. If there was a species that could transverse neighbouring planets in the events of large impact events (such as the creation of the moon as is speculated) then mushrooms could certainly spread life in such a situation. Two such mushrooms noted to be able to survive space were tested by blasting them with unreasonably high doses of radiation. The Fungi “…Aspergillus and Penicillium… survived being blasted with 1’000 gray of X-ray radiation, 500 gray of heavy ions and large doses of UV radiation..” (Marta Cortesão -US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health).
