The soap vet's name was missing from the closing credits on Friday. Fans are wondering about her status on the soap.

Where is Finola Hughes?

Eagle-eyed General Hospital viewers noticed that Finola Hughes was not listed in the Friday, February 13 closing credits. This has brought all kinds of speculation about the woman who portrays Anna Devane.

GH fans wonder if Hughes has left the soap, been placed on recurring status, or is taking a vacation. The actress was away from the soap earlier this year after her character was first kidnapped. Some fans thought she was on vacation at that time.

There were also rumors that Hughes was ill and keeping it a secret. Neither theory has been proven. Anna is in a mental health facility in France, while her granddaughter Emma Scorpio Drake (Braeyden Bruner) has traveled to California to tell her parents, Patrick Drake ( Jason Thompson) and Robin Scorpio Drake ( Kimberly McCullough).

Anna is in serious trouble

Many Port Charles residents are involved in one way or another with Anna's saga. Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) feels guilty that he chose to help Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) rather than support Ms. Davane. Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) and Mac Scorpio (John J York) are concerned and looking for answers.

Dante Falconeri and Jack Brennan both sense that something is not right. Everyone says that Anna is strong, and a total breakdown is out of character for her. She believes Cesaer Faison is still alive, which is ringing alarm bells for those in Port Charles who know that he is dead and gone.

Robert Scorpio's memorial promises to be revealing

General Hospital co-head writers, Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten, teased the current Anna storyline in their 2026 preview with TV Insider. However, all parties involved are keeping details of what's coming under wraps.

Korte and Van Etten also said that Anna would be somehow involved in Robert Scorpi'os (Tristan Rogers) death. Rogers died last summer but GH has yet to address his demise on-screen. No date has been given for when Robert will be memorialized, but fans hope it will be soon.

This gives viewers encouragement that Hughes has not walked away or been fired from GH. There are also rumors that Anna might somehow be responsible for Robert's death. Still, this does not address why her portrayer's name was not in Friday's credits.

Missing names usually indicate an actor has been let go, but neither Hughes nor General Hospital executives have addressed this issue. One fan said that perhaps Hughes name was omitted because she was not in that specific episode.

Answers should be coming

Anna has been a fixture in Port Charles since 1985. She has been front and center since 2021. Some fans were hoping that when James Patrick Steuart returned as Valentin Cassadine, he would rescue her from Wyndamere, but now she is halfway around the world and talking out of her head.

So, has Finola Hughes been fired or departed Port Charles on her own? Is her absence storyline related, or is she on vacation? Could Hughes be ill and keeping quiet, or is her name missing from the credits only because she was not in Friday's episode?

When she was missing at the beginning of the year and fans thought she was sick, the cover photo was taken showing she was doing well. Shortly after this image was captured she returned to the screen.

Continue watching General Hospital to learn about Anna Devane's fate and how it ties to Robert Scorpio's death. Remember to be aware of clickbait when you read sensational headlines. Always consider the source and check with at least two different websites you know that give you accurate news.
