Our Villians are Heros, our Media isn't.
Have you noticed that the villains you see in today's media are, well, relatable? Two of the biggest and most praised comic book movies, Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War, feature antagonists whose motives are not only relatable and relevant but whose arguments are...correct. And yet, both of these characters are extremely problematic in their nature.

Twilight Tantrum
I'm still a little bit shocked that I decided to write this. Currently, it's 5:06 on a Saturday and my wonderful husband decided to take our daughter out so I can get a break to do the human person things that I need to do... in order to feel like a human being. I guess this is one of them? Midnight Sun came a few months ago and I debated for about two weeks with myself whether I was actually gonna read it. I read it. One day during that debate I was having a super hard day and I found myself in the Walmart book line grabbing a copy because honestly... it was a mental escape. That day I didn't rationalize or think I just did it. Plus, I was influenced by a few friends who had just rewatched the whole series.

The Strange Misandry of 40 Days and 40 Nights
I noticed the other day that 40 Days and 40 Nights was on Netflix Canada. Right now, familiar things are comfort food to me. Yeah, I like new but sometimes you just want to throw on something stupid and fluffy that doesn't make you think. Boy was I surprised.

Dave Chappelle Cancelled
I didn't want to believe it. Did the man whom I beheld with my own two reddish-brown eyes as he proudly accepted the Mark Twain prize for tens of millions of viewers really fall victim to the unerring Cancel Culture? It can't be true. I've got to see this for myself. And what better place to find the truth than the almighty internet.

A Clockwork Orange | Analysis 2
Even before I saw “A Clockwork Orange,” I had always wondered why the individual on the cover had a long eyelash on one side, only. I think I may have found the answer, however, we must first look at a few other details before analyzing this.

The seventh son of a seventh son
Seven son are rare In the cover photo are seven brothers and one stands out because he is dressed differently from the others and does not have a mustache as the six do. In our society, there is another reason that one brother out of seven is considered to be significant. I was recently watching the movie The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad and heard a man say that someone among the group was the seventh son of a seventh son.

Hollywood Gets Hoop Dreams
I don't know about you, but if someone asked me to name a movie about basketball, my mind would immediately go to Space Jam. Space Jam, the film where Michael Jordan has to team up with the Looney Tunes to help them win a basketball match against a team of space aliens that have stolen the mojos of notable NBA players. It may sound ridiculous, but it does make sense that I choose the film that features the most iconic basketball player of all time making his big-screen debut in the most successful basketball film of all time. Grossing $230 million in 1996 to become the 12th-highest-grossing film of the year, with an accompanying soundtrack album that went 6x platinum, and an official website that you can still visit today, Space Jam was a pop culture phenomenon.

John Wick vs Michael Myers
In my older articles I did two John Wick scenarios where he would go up against The Punisher, Batman, and even Neo from the Matrix. So far John Wick didn't disappoint. He's either been above average or decent in his assassination killing spree career.

Symbolic Meaning of Nose Bleeding
Symbolic meaning of nosebleed - A psychological fight seethes between a gallant character and her adversary. As the battles wears on, we see the primary indications of the cost it must be taking. A stream of blood, ruby red, slides from one nostril, at that point the other.

Romantic Movie Cliches That Hollywood Will Never Tire Of
Whether we're a fan of the genre or not, romance films are still seen by Hollywood as one of their most bankable genres. The genre has two significant spikes in popularity, first during the Hollywood Golden Age with the films of Fred and Ginger, and secondly during the 1980s and 1990s with films like Ghost, Sleepless In Seattle, When Harry Met Sally, Pretty Woman, Four Weddings & a Funeral and Notting Hill. During those spikes, specific trends or even cliches began to be formed. These cliches would soon start to be used again and again with each successful film released by Hollywood during said peak periods. Some of these cliches have carried over through the decades and are (un)fortunately still being used within the romantic genre today. This post will explore the most common ones.

Earth's Mightiest Elite Four
I have a strong love for Pokemon, I first got into it when it debuted here in the US and have been a Pokefan ever since. It has influenced my writing and, over the last several months, I have written several articles detailing teams I would use if I was a Pokemon Trainer, member of an Elite Four, or even Pokemon Champion.
