The Mask of Avalor
The night is still, no sounds to be heard; no animal, no insects. A storm is on the horizon; lightning flashes and thunder suddenly roars in the distance. A body lays on the ground. Completely torn to shreds, it is unrecognizable. A hole is beside the body which is soon filled with the unknown corpse.

Samaritan
The first thing he noticed was the cold. The air hung over him, motionless and icy. He felt the stiffness in his joints before he even had a chance to move his body. A thick cloud of drowsiness filled his head, making it hard to keep his eyes open on his first attempt at assessing the scene around him. An alarmingly sharp pain pierced his chest as he moved to sit up. Agony wracked his torso and he was sent gasping back down onto the linoleum. Breathless, he blinked rapidly, fighting to clear the blurriness from his eyes. The center of his chest stung with a pain that radiated from his sternum, and he wrapped his arms around himself as he tried to make sense of his surroundings. He was in a strange room—a long, rectangular space with high ceilings and fluorescent lights that flickered every so often, casting jumping shadows against the plain, bleached walls. A few chairs and tables were strewn about; some carelessly knocked over as if a group of people had hastily fled, and some set up in neat lines with clean metal chairs pushed in neatly around the rectangular tables. He opened his mouth and tried to speak, his lips moving soundlessly as he tried to work up the energy to call out.

Dark Night Part 5
While Kerse drove, I used my phone to scour the internet for any trace of Beverly in any historical documents. At one point I found a copy of Rosa Park’s arrest report, which I thought was odd at first, given that there was no obvious link. “Did Beverly have anything to do with the Civil Rights movement?” I asked.

Common Man's View: 'The Ritual'
I call it a common man's review because I have no experience as a critic, no mastery of language to make me a great wordsmith, and no power over my own mind to breakthrough my own opinions. With that being said, I am torn between having great admiration for horror creators and their creations, and myself being possessed of an unending well of fear. One might dive into my psyche and see every horror movie I have ever seen still tearing at the edges of my sanity every night as I lie in bed.

Ash vs Evil Dead
The best show on television begins airing its new season in a few weeks. It airs on the Starz network, a channel not normally known for its original programming. Forget about other shows that purposely manipulate your feelings, tug at your heartstrings, or dive into convoluted storylines. Or shows that continues with an every-changing mythology just for the sake of shock, or perhaps writers that had run out of ideas and attempt to cram a show with whatever they can to see what sticks. No, no. Give me this show. A straight up horror show that bares all, keeps it simple, is nostalgic at the right moments, yet keeps it fresh with new characters and engaging storylines. Ash vs Evil Dead, the perfect show and binge-worthy treat.
