“The Eternal Candle”
"The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window.” The woods were deep, and when there was a full moon it would light up just enough to make out the shadows of your surroundings. Very soon Blake and Vera would find this out; as they took the short cut through the Forest to go home. It was a calm night even the smallest crunch of a leaf sounded as tho a tree were falling. Blake looked over at his sister “ don’t you get the feeling someone is watching us?” Shut up! said Vera; at the very moment a breeze blew causing a branch to fall and avert their eyes off the path. They both saw a light in the distance. Now they were locked onto this little light; when all of the sudden “crunch crunch!” A noise from behind spooked them both and began to run toward the light. As they got closer they could make out the shadow of the cabin unknowingly distracted by fear they continued to the light. Vera saw a shadow at the corner of the cabin assuming the moon light was playing tricks she ignored the image. With chills running up their spines and long,hollow, empty creaks every step they took towards the door. They had never before seen this abandoned cabin. Blake knocked on the door; What are you doing! Vera said “a psycho could live here!” “Come on Vera we’re lost and if no one is here we’re gunna have to sleep here tonight.” Blake explained. As he knocked the door bounced off the frame an opened toward them. In the silent night the door sounded as tho it were whispering. Crunch! Crunch! crunch! A shadow in the distance was moving towards them; quickly they ran inside. Once again motivated by fear they did not yet realize that the door had closed behind them with the motions of their movements. They blew out the candle to avoid any light to see inside. Foot steps approached the porch Blake and Vera are trembling with so much fear they let out these screeching screams as though they were being slaughtered. AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!— Then everything went quiet the foot steps disappeared. Exhausted from the events Blake and Vera held onto each other and slept through the night. When they awoke the next morning to their surprise the sun had not yet rose neither one knew the time. Blake decided to get up and walk around the cabin. Next to the candle he saw an old box of matches so he lit the candle and at that moment the shadows vanished from the room as tho they were running from the light. The cabin was old and moldy with missing floor boards and cracked walls. Blake was very disturbed at this moment. Then crunch crunch! Vera and Blake heard a loud noise outside. Both of them looking for a way out they found a hole in the wall in the back room and were able to crawl their way through. Peeking around the corner they could see two shadows running up to the cabin. As they got closer, and closer Vera peeked a little further out almost able to make out what the people looked like. At that very second she could see one of them was staring at her so she darted behind the cabin barely escaping from view. They bent down at the hole trying to hear to afraid to run then they heard a knock. Faintly almost able to make out someone saying “where gunna have to sleep here tonight” in a boys voice. Vera’s heart dropped; stomach pulled up to her lungs she could barely breathe because she knew who said that. As she explained to Blake he didn’t believe his sister and said “well I’m going to walk up there and see for myself “ in a shaky voice. He crept around the house walking up the way to avoid being seen. He got out from behind the trees and started to come towards the house he could almost make out what they looked like,but he needed to get closer. Then they ran inside as he was approaching. Out of no where he heard these god awful screams and it terrified them both so much they ran as fast as they could until they finally found the original trail the brother and sister didn’t speak they were consumed by fear as they were walking. After a while Vera asked Blake “does it feel like someone is watching us?”

10 Horror Series Worth Watching This Halloween
Ordered from least to greatest for your convenience. 1. Hemlock grove This show has a solid first season. It’s a high school teen drama mixed with supernatural elements. It’s not perfect, but the performances are strong and the storytelling is interesting. Season 2 is a miss-step, but watchable. Season 3 is a mess and is unsatisfying as a conclusion, but if you’re bored and want to watch a horror-themed show, this is a unique option. Bill Skarsgård, Landon Liboiron, and Famke Janssen do an excellent job in this forgotten early Netflix series.

Happy Halloween There once was a jack-o-lantern but it wasn’t just any jack-o-lantern. Upon a farm there lived a young boy of 9 or 10 with messy hair, freckles, and a missing tooth grin. His name was Jeffrey. Of all the times of the year, Autumn was his favorite, the changing colors of the leaves, the holiday of Halloween at the end of the month, and most importantly the pumpkin carving. For you see Jeffrey was lonely, his farm was so far away from the town he rarely saw other kids his age and when he did at the school they weren’t very fond of him. But when October came around and the harvests came in he could have as many friends as he wanted. All it took was a few pumpkins and some silly faces and Jeffrey was one of the happiest kids in the world. But this year was different, just faces were not quite enough anymore so something special would be done. A single pumpkin nice and round almost perfect was selected from the harvest, it was gutted and then a gentle face was carved in it. Two oval eyes, a tiny triangle nose, and a two-toothed smile happy and kind. Jeffrey then took two sticks and like his grandfather showed him before tied them together with twine to make the frame of a scarecrow; a rather tiny one no bigger than a child. Taking one of his old shirts with a two-button collar and collared sleeves in a dusty blue color he put it on the frame stuffing it with straw and giving the scarecrow his old mittens. With his grandfather’s help, the bottom of the main stick was split in two and widened out, and tied with twine for legs. The scarecrow got some brown pants stuffed with straw and a few lengths of twined between the belt loops to keep it up. With the placement of its head, the pumpkin friend was complete and Jeffrey was happy.

The Face in the Wall
Terry’s day started with the previous shift dragging Inmate Harrison from his cell. The two officers, old pros at this, had him cuffed up and held under each arm, the yard Sergeant coming behind as he manfully attempted to hold the inmates kicking legs. Sergeant Leeman wasn’t a small guy, somewhere between a bodybuilder and a sideshow strong man, and even he was having trouble keeping a hold of the struggling inmate. Harrison was six and a half feet tall and most of it was ankles and elbow. As they took him out, he was screaming loud enough to shake the cobwebs in the rafters.

Mr. Violence Vs Maniac Cop
Jimmy walks towards Cordell. Jimmy says You are an ugly son of bitch. Mcrae comes out of the building and Jimmy tells him to get the kids out of here. Jimmy pulls out his desert eagle and starts blowing holes into Cordell. Mcrae jumps in his car with the kids and drives off into traffic. Cordell pulls out his blade and walks towards Jimmy. Jimmy puts up his gun and rushes Cordell with some martial arts moves and kicks the blade out of his hand. Cordell grabs Jimmy by the leg and tosses him through the wall of the police building which is up in flames.
