Ever since i was a child i have always heard this saying by my parents echo in my head. The saying "Charity begins at home."
Growing up i started getting so aware of the world we live in. We live in a world where not all fingers are equal, A world where we have a lot of disadvantaged people in different ways, and many more. The need to increase charity is on the rise every single day, and we must all fit in and imbibe that culture of charity.
We all need to train and make our kids see the essence of charity to humanity because that is our own very little way of giving back to society.
Charity is said to be an act of philanthropy, and also social well-being to anyone around us. Charity organizations are not just the only set of people who should be doing this. We all must be a part of it all. Your act of charity can be a blessing to home, community, and also your society at large. This great work of humanity should not and never be despised.

While growing, I was taught by my parent to always share my stuff with others, especially those that are in dire need of it than i am. It really does not take anything to be selfless and be of help to other people around you. Most times i am faced with giving out what i love the most but then i realized that the person i happen to give the little stuff i had with me needed it the most. And you will be really amazed at the way such a person will be happy and grateful.
From my little sweets that i was given by my parents, i shared my biscuits as well, my drinks, my chair, and that was one of the best things i did while growing up in school. There was a time we had a new student in our school when she walked in, there was no seat for her to sit. We have occupied the seats in my classroom and the management was about bringing in a sit for her, so she can fit in. But then during the process of waiting to get the chair to our classroom, I noticed the girl was tired, so i beckoned on her to come and sit beside me.
She looked at me like she was surprised someone would actually call her in a class she just got in and knew no one? But then she came and sat beside me, and there i noticed she was so relieved and happy. The tone of her voice was filled with gratitude. I was so happy that day that i was able to put a smile on my classmate’s face.

As an adult, I have been part of so many charity organizations. One of which is the Romi's Life Support. They go into the slums and express their act of charity to many lives living there. They provide meals, items of clothing, shoes, and writing materials to all living in the slums. The joy at which everyone welcomes us is so emotional. They tend to forget their sorrows once they see Romi's Life Support pull up. I'm so happy for the visioneer, Oluwafunmilayo Dairo C. It is always nice to be with her.
We all must imbibe the cause for charity. Make someone smile today. Extend your hand to the needy around you, and it doesn't really have to be a big gift. A small gift with a good heart goes a long way of turning people's sorrows into joy. If you are blessed, then you need to be a blessing to others. You don't need to wait till you have your own organization before you can carry out that act of humanity.
Make someone smile today. Embrace charity and live a life of impact.
