The Little Black Book
Somewhere in a province that has long lost its name lay a secret that was much too exposed to be called as such. Though Kings of men long overlooked its splendor in pursuit of glory, honor, fame, riches and power, this gift beheld the exact treasures of the beholder. It presented itself bound within the confines of two rectangular leather hides, filled with scribbles on papyri of remnants of old. But it was not bound, this little black book. No. Before it was a book it was a word, spoken and bold, full of authority and creativity, principle, and victory. It was the spirit of the word, if you will, but the only way it could be carried into the future generations, beyond the moment it was declared, was to be conformed to that of a book. The book had one writer, though many contributed to its pages, therein lie its mystery. It was home to the greatest conquests since the dawn of time. It was also home for those who opened its pages. And in a moment, a sojourner, one foreign to the existence of this book, came upon it.

The Deserving Desire
Closing my tired, red eyes after working all night, it was 2:20 am. I was exhausted, well that was an understatement. Trying to sleep without worrying about the next day, working in the concrete boxes built to tower over every other corporate building, serving coffees to businessmen when I’m half asleep, organizing days off for them, to fit with their co-workers when I haven’t had a day off in 4 weeks.

The Black Book on the Subway
I got on the subway in Chicago and stood by the door, heading for work and eager to escape the subzero temperatures outside. While holding onto a railing, I watched as the masked passengers swayed in unison as the train car started to move, quietly consuming the bright lights on their smartphones.

Little Black Book
Parcel deliveries weren’t common on Sundays, but that’s when the little black book was delivered to Sam’s house. He straightened his black rimmed glasses on his nose and took a look at it, turning it over in his hand. He did not recall ordering this, although it was something he would have used for his career, but not something he recalled ordering.

The Abridged Waters
I intend to powerwalk a few miles. The weekend is perfect for a journey. I dread the unshoveled sidewalks except I understand chores of removing snow myself. There is a way around this troubling matter. I decided to walk alongside the roads or elsewhere fellow travelers trekked on sidewalks slushing toward my destination. As usual, I thought my level concentration is being disrupted. Meanwhile, I focus on people who are alike me out for a walk with their gloves and/or mask bundled up. I am not alone. I empathizes our dilemma seeing that nothing is going to disconnect us. What matters most, is we made it another day building on inner health. There are other problems. Boxed obstacles become debris or a lost barrrette...I ignore these items crossed my path. Maybe, I can retrieve a quarter found on the cement ground. Lottery tickets are a waste of time because someone loses the game. Usually, you are not going to find a winning ticket. I journeyed on a little farther . I do not mind trekking around corners evenso a few hilly mounds. I love the jungle gym.you can see why I don’t let this upset me.

Renovation Surprise
Renovation Surprise BAM! BAM! Cai clobbered the closet wall with a sledgehammer. He was pounding out his monetary frustrations. The condo HOA fees were rising 20%, the most it had gone up in the 12 years he has lived there. The apartment was also desperately in need of renovations before his girlfriend, Raina, moved in June.

The Man She Met
There was a woman who had a hard life. She had been through so much in only a short life she lived thus far. She had horrible parents and her first husband was a nightmare. She had to work very hard to get to where she was in life. Which honestly was nowhere. She had a dead-end job and bills piling up and no social life. She worked to pay a debt that seemed like would never be resolved. One day she met a man who was charming and kind. They went on a date and she thought they hit it off. They laughed, drank, ate, told each other their life stories, and really got along. Then there was a sinking thought that maybe this was too good to be true. She started to go over their date in her head and twisted the night so bad in her mind she started to doubt any of the great things even happened. She started to cry realizing she had failed at yet another thing in her life.
