Dear Lex, What do you do when you see your ex in person? Anon --- Dear Anon, For me, that is an easy question. Every time I have dated someone, the relationship started off with a friendship. Because of this, regardless of how the relationship ended, we were able to be friends after. Even if the relationship ended in turmoil, we were always able to find a common ground later on in life. Whenever I see one of my ex's in person, I either speak or I don't but whether I do or not is not dependent on the fact that they are my ex... it simply depends on if I feel like speaking or not.

The Crash of the Air Conditioner
I yell for her help as the air conditioner falls from the window onto my foot, like the Chicxulub asteroid hitting earth. The adrenaline pumps through my veins so I don’t feel a thing, but I am sure that when I open my eyes, if it has not been fully eradicated like the dinosaurs, my foot will certainly be flat and stretched out, like something smashed by an anvil in a Bugs Bunny cartoon. So as I look down at it I am relieved and surprised to find that my foot is just as it always has been, three dimensional and all. Then the pain starts and I scream as I fall to the floor. I roll around clenching my sore foot in my hands trying to feel for the broken bones. I am not feeling anything out of place, I guess that means nothing is broken. So, despite gravity’s weapon of mass destruction’s best effort, my foot is fine.

The well-prepared owners of petrol mowers had long ago changed their oil, and had no reason to worry about the degraded remnants of fuel from September, nor did they have the need to prise away last summer’s grass detritus from the blades with screwdrivers. They had already oiled their mowers’ blades and had jerry cans of the requisite petrol to fuel their machines. They were soon on their way, vibrating the air with their motors, filling it with a pleasant tang of green leaf volatiles and petrol emissions. The electric boys were already mowing, but in a more nasal manner — even the well-spoken, cordless ones were all treble, no bass. Meghan Trainor hated them.
