Second Chance Love
When my first marriage ended due to infidelity I promised myself that I would never give so much of myself to another man and under no circumstances ever marry again! The heartache associated with betrayal was so strong it felt as though I had experienced a death. It was painfully similar to the day my mother left this world and entered into her heavenly rest. I cried uncontrollably until my body jerked from each breath I took. During that time, I was thinking to myself, "How could I have been so stupid and love this man so much? He was my one. I'm done."

What's Lust Got to Do with It?
Follow your heart. The meme of many a teen romance and driftwood epiphanies. It may be good advice but less reliable when given about matters of love. For the heart doesn't have much to do with that—aside from getting enough blood flow to the relevant parts to perform the appropriate actions at the proper time—the heart is a back seat driver while lust controls the throttle.

Love: Expectations vs. Reality
Everyone (or so I think) wants that romance, the storybook life, and happily ever after. Unfortunately for all of us, in today's age that is near impossible. This post isn't just about fairytale/storybook love but also the love that people experienced before the 21st century.

Secretly Adore Him
You ever just meet someone and you just look at them like "Where have you been all my life?" Yeah, me neither until I met this guy! I'm not going to say how I met him, but let's just say from social media. We had been chatting for awhile and everything until he finally asked me to go out. I kept denying it because of how busy I am. Finally, I decided to meet him on a Friday in mid-August! Beautiful day, beautiful weather in lovely Chicagoland.

Finding Love
Love is a complicated thing. We have all experienced love in one way or another in our life so far and we will continue to find and experience love until the day we die. Love is composed of many things and isn’t just about love between two people. In this case, the idea of love for me is a deep, emotional, and soul warming connection that you have with a person.

Soul Mates
Ah yes, the ever mysterious “Soul Mate”. Media has portrayed the Soul Mate as the perfect fit. The peanut butter to your jelly. The wind beneath your wings. It’s gotten people crazed to find someone that they can have a fairytale love with. And look, I totally get it. Who wouldn’t want to find the love of their life and ride off into the sunset? But there’s one thing people forget: Life isn’t a fairytale. We get so wrapped up in trying to find the perfect partner in crime, that often times, the definition of a “Soul Mate” gets misconstrued and warped into trivial meanings. We think our Soul Mate is going to ride in on a white steed and hand us a bouquet of roses. We think that every conversation is going to be perfect and we won’t get into arguments. And look, if you do happen to be in a relationship like that, awesome. I’m not saying that your love isn’t valid. All I’m saying is that the term Soul Mate is often used incorrectly when describing types of connections.
