marriage
Marriage is not so much a word as it is a sentence–a life sentence.
The Wise Man's Saying
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife. For as to the value of riches to him so much the more can it be said of those who possess neither; for while we have riches without wives, what have we with wives? A man may say without vanity that he has his fortune, but this is not true. His fortune cannot compare to other men's fortunes, because there are none like him, nor can it give him any other than himself; therefore his life itself may be esteemed but small if he has no one to share it with. This was how the wise man of old observed, who had lived long enough to understand the ways of nature, and knew well enough that a man should seek his fortune by living alone.

The 21st century is replete with gender identity questions. It is a time of liberation and subjugation. A time in history when we ask questions of ourselves in order to find our true place in this life. Is it in the body for which we are born or through a life that we create on our own?

Breakthrough
Our marriage was not going well. We rarely spoke except when it was about our pets. We never touched. We coexisted, and I felt like we were roommates, not husbands. He was content, even though I wanted more. The distance between us just continued to grow.

The First Dance. Top Story - April 2022.
I do not dance unless forced to. Before I reached University, dancing was relegated to films and TV series, watching the Carlton shuffle or Tom Cruise effortlessly perform a classic dance to impress a woman. I was a voyeur when it came to the art and was very happy about that. Then came University and most recently, my wedding.

My Friend Asks Me, "Should I Marry My Fiance?"
This article is for the guys. I feel that women are more mature than men at the same age. The adage that "behind every great man, there is an even greater woman" may allude to this. I don't know any great man who wasn't in a relationship. I have had two friends of mine ask me this very question or some derivative of it. I don't know why they said it. Alcohol was involved. Come to think of it; they were both drunk when they asked me. Then again, alcohol has been known to act as a truth serum. Another adage comes to mind, "In wine, there is truth." Truth be told, how do you answer this question,"Should I Marry My Fiance?".
