The Book Of Life
Pulses, up and down the book breathed life into its creased pages. The leather bound words joined tightly together, woven into existence. It began to move. Slowly, eventually, towards him. A man with all of life’s experiences shown by his worn bones, covered by a kind exterior. Smiling from cheek to cheek he watched in awe as this little black book moved. It stopped. It opened. Creaky noises emulating from this little black book, filling a blank room. But as blank as this room was, the man’s experience led the way for this book. Upon a glance the pages filled with his life. Sentences, punctuation, and spelling all summed up in his existence. The little back book was sewn in a connection with this man. The two were indistinguishable.

The day began just like any other day. Camille was sitting at the kitchen table drinking coffee while eating her toast. She felt not like herself this current morning. something was off but she couldn't put her finger on it. As she looked at all the unpaid bills all she could do was hang her head and cry. at this point she felt completely defeated. She always was the type of woman who could fix any situation. And then there she was, older, still elegant, and more beautiful than ever. The wild lightness of his youth returned accompanied with an unfamiliar confidence. Excitedly and without hesitation he approached. Guided by an overpowering impulse he had said 'hello' before he knew what he was doing. If he had thought about it he probably would have fearfully admonished himself for being so eager, but there was no time for that and to his surprise he was handling the situation incredibly well, comfortably engaged and in control, simultaneously feeling more like himself than he had ever known and like someone else completely.
